If you take Jones' theory that the parents were all crisis actors then you can say it's basically the government/Deep State bringing the civil suits rather than actual parents.

You can say it on the show anyway.

That is certainly the kind of circular logic he and his followers would subscribe to...
Jones won his 1st Amendment case. Just thought you should know.

This was never about the first amendment. That's why he's liquidating everything he has to pay off all the lawsuits he lost. Just thought you should know.

What monies does he owe, now? It was always about defamation, which was just thrown out.

They won the court battle. 1+1 = 2.

ETA: Now they're talking about being in business for 3-4 more months. Tucker was awesome today, saying he'd also be a donor to keep the operation alive.

Still $1.5 billion. He's liquidating all personal assets to pay whatever he can. The judge is dismissing the liquidation of info wars in the interest of the families, not Jones. This allows them to pursue him in state courts immediately instead of waiting for his bankruptcy to play out.

He hasn't won anything.

I know it settled. Thanks. Insurance paid out. Fine. There are costs for lawyers, increased premiums, and the business folded from the litigation expenses.

Terrible take. This isn't a left vs right issue. This is a right vs wrong issue. Dare I say, a good vs evil issue. And Alex Jones is NOT the good guy, here.

Just because you might agree with a guy on some stuff doesn't make that person right everywhere else or even good. Some people just do crappy things to others and thankfully they sometimes have to account for it.

And he redacted all that was said and called out the ones who gave him bad information. You want to end a guy bc he made a mustake? Not very "liberal" of you.

It was live, with Alex, Tucker, Owen and Chase disclosing the verdict.

I will gladly post...Oh, NVM. https://www.infowars.com/show/war-room/

It wasn't. He's conflating Jones's bankruptcy case. The judge is allowing him to liquidate his personal assets in chapter 7, but not info wars or its present company. My understanding is that the families can now pursue them directly in state court and seize them.

Again, can you please explain what you're talking about?

It was a live broadcast with Alex, Tucker, Owen and Chase detailing how they won the case. Listen to it right now, or wait 30 minutes.

The link will work.

You mean the guy who routinely denies reality and misrepresents himself to beg for financial support despite being worth millions? I think I'll pass.

Per the judge in his case:

"I was never asked today to make a decision to shut down a show or not. That was never going to happen today one way or another. This case is one of the more difficult cases I've had. When you look at it, I think creditors are better served in pursuing their state court rights."

How they won the defamation case? That makes no sense.

Sorry, the link says they are waiting to hear from inside the courtroom.

Now he's talking about Ukraine.

I am at a loss for words to read that some of you feel the families are grifters. Bottom line, Alex Jones was flat out wrong from the get-go. This is not a situation where an innocent man was found guilty...he dug his own grave.

I suppose those that lost loved ones should have just kept their mouth shut while Jones slandered them and made money at their expense. This was not about money...and everyone knows that.

Hard to believe, but the first graders that survived that day graduated from Newtown High School two days ago.

I'd like to add that even though Jones his own bed on the default judgment, the amount of damages awarded is absolutely ludicrous.

Info wars had a great YouTube presence during 2015-2016. I was in school at the time and I got to see how ****ing insane liberals were when being interviewed at various rallies. I had absolutely zero political association or compass at that time so it was eye opening.

Yup, pretty sickening and ironic to see somebody with the username "Aggie4Life" call people who had their young children slaughtered "grifters" and have zero regard for what they went through. Zero chance he'd say that to any of their faces. Though sadly I'm not surprised that a post telling parents who had their kids executed "hey, eff you…you're nothing but a bunch of grifters" has garnered nearly 100 stars. Having an ounce of compassion is a tall ask for a lot of the posters on this board.

I'm not sure what makes him any different other than people read tabloids for entertainment and did not take it seriously, where Alex Jones has true believers buying his swill

Well for one Alex Jones completely and blatantly disregarded court orders the entire trial. From not participating with discovery to mocking the judge on his show during the trail, he really did himself no favors. But I think you really underestimate the damages to the parents of the victims. #1 there are many families involved. #2 many of them had to move and upend their lives MULTIPLE times becauss of harassment from Alex Jones and his fans. #3 they've had to live through trauma of that day over and over again because of Alex Jones.

I would argue the damages should be substantial, but should include and exceed money that Alex Jones made by perpetuating this conspiracy because it did have real victims. This is not just "I believe in flat earth" speech. This is make these victims lives a perpetual hell speech.

Think of it this way: If regularly dealing with dozens of people like the poster above in person for the rest of your life is worth low to mid 8 figures, then multiply that by about 20 because that's how many different people sued him. The overall judgement is huge mostly because he owes much smaller judgements to so many. Like a massive judgement or settlement in a class action, the number is big because of the number of plaintiffs and the damage done to each.

It's even larger because he was so flippant about the whole thing and lost on summary judgement. He didn't even try to defend himself, and a jury is generally going to find that a little insulting.

His listeners, acting on his conspiracy theories, have continually stalked and harassed them trying to print that their kids never existed and they're crisis actors. Imagine people constantly following you, spring up at your for to confront you, showing up in public to confront you, and even at your murdered kid's grave. The people who buy into this crap are absolutely nuts and will stop at no ends to prove themselves right.

It's not any different than someone getting 375 years in prison. They know he can't pay it, it's just done to maximize the punishment.

Regularly dealing with insensitive nutbags isn't worth mid 8 digits, so we'll just disagree out of the gate. And the nutbags sb held responsible for their behavior. I don't buy the premise that they'll deal with these people forever nor that everything some nut does is Alex Jones' fault

Then agree to disagree, but based on some of the "insensitive" stuff staff cleaned up from last night, I would award them even more.
