This is when the Gov looks down the Income ledger and realizes how dependent the State of NY has become on Federal handouts:

Quote:

The call came a day after Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James held a combative press conference where James vowed to "fight back once again" against a Trump administration and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law.

Quote:

"It was a very cordial call, and listen, I said I'll work with anybody," Hochul said, at a post-election political event in Puerto Rico Friday, according to Politico. She said it was an appropriate courtesy to congratulate the winner of an election.

Quote:

"I basically just reaffirmed there are areas we can work together, like infrastructure, where we rely on federal money, and he seems to share my priorities."

She comes out swinging defiantly for politics and then realizes he holds the spending now.

This is how it works. The Feds buy state influence and then coerces them to do what they demand. That's how states made the drinking age 21. They withheld infrastructure money if they didn't comply.

Commerce Clause is pretty powerful.

Daddy's home.

The defiant bratty teenager was throwing a fit but shut up and behaved when Daddy walked in the door and started taking off his belt.

Libs always portray a lot of bluster and bravado until the alpha male walks into the room.

Hochul knows who is running the show now.

Meat for the base followed by political positioning. Hopefully she is smart enough to let Trump help her state, but I'm not counting on it.

He was pretty nice to her at the Al Smith dinner

I think he is actually going to make an effort to get this country bonded a little more.

We'll see how it turns out. She was calling to make sure their funding would be okay in NY. Supposedly they get majority of their infrastructure money from Feds

They're trying to rebuild Penn Station and are still trying to do the tunnel project. They need a lot of federal dollars. Tens of billions of federal dollars.

Cooperate with ICE or no Fed funds. Pretty simple I think.

Especially to a state as broke and as fiscally irresponsible as NY

She also doesn't have to let her AG speak for the state. Take the lead in muzzling "resistance" talk and
she may yet benefit. Just common sense. Also, with NY having turned "redder" (can it be called `purple' yet?) a pure Chicago style stance may backfire.

Getting the country back together is going to be 100% based on the Left dropping this new 'crazy commie' stance they've taken on. The Right hasn't gone anywhere.

Their new persona got their asses kicked across America so we'll see. It's all up to them.
Pretty sure most of you don’t know me.

The NY governor will gag the NY AG and kiss some ass to get that federal funding. So much for resistance.
