That's a good point.

Seeing as how trans people have been around for thousands of years, a la Google, and probably part of our country for probably as long as we've been around, I would like to know what happened lately for there to be these acts of violence lately.

There are definitely documented examples of sexual deviance in ancient times. Sodom and Gomorrah come to mind. Other stories of societies devolving into excess, gluttony and sexual deviance exist throughout.
