Depends on which team and location but as far as pro sports go I'd tend to agree.

I might attend a parade for a national championship winning football, basketball, or baseball team in College Station for example. I wouldn't even consider doing so for say for the Astros, Texans, Rockets, Rangers, Cowboys , Spurs or Mavericks.

We went to the Astro parade in 2017. We had a great time. There were a ton of people and no known incidents. Houston is not Philly, thank God.
