No wonder they call it the Admiralty.

With their DEI program, most are probably Rear Admirals.

Simple math, that's 15 too many.

Only 1 Admiral can run the ship.

I mean, every ship needs a bench Admiral or two, right?

Mark Felton Productions is a great channel to follow if you do not already do so. Great channel. I have watched a number of his documentaries on various aspects of World War II and they are all very informative.

The British can build 1,000 warships, but until they rediscover their balls nothing they do militarily will ever matter again.

lol those Brits are big on the chest being full of medals. A few years back, I was at the In Flanders Field Museum on August 15th and Tommies were everywhere. (Evidently, that date is of significance to them. So much so we were not going to be able to go into the museum, but the Belgians eventually let us enter.) A lot of old guys wearing their uniforms and it looked like half of them had a half sheet of plywood of medals on their chest. Have no idea what the medals were all for, but sure were a lot of them.

I thought Captains ran ships? Only need 1 Admiral per fleet.

They should put some of the extra Admirals in charge of canoe and kayak clubs just to give them a "fleet" to command.

The United States military is way, way worse- we award personal decorations for: doing your job; doing your job well; doing your job well while exceeding expectations; performing your job with excellence; performing your job well/excellently while serving alongside a different service; performing your job with distinction; and for the distinguished performance your job.

Oh sheet... you're right!

I figured it was one of those translational deals where their 'Admiral' = our 'Captain'.

After further review, the current Royal Navy Admiral count is 40 including 3 Admirals (8%), 10 Vice Admirals (25%) and 27 Rear Admirals (67%). They have 25 warships, so that's 1.6 Admirals per warship and 40 Admirals per fleet - as they only have one.

The current US Navy Admiral count is 223 including 10 Admirals (4%), 32 Vice Admirals (14%) and 181 Rear Admirals (82%). We have 296 warships, so that's 1.3 Admirals per warship and 32 Admirals per fleet - as we have seven.

Not sure what the breakouts mean, but there it is anyway.
