Years ago, the first time the skit was done it was very funny. This time kind of missed the mark.

Watched primarily by leftists, because
1. They have no sense of humor
2. Reinforces all their prejudices.

Pretty much sums up the entire show. It was maybe 10 minutes of funny then rest was terrible

Now do the SNL skit where a bunch of black kids take turns punching on Tom Hanks because he is white….and he still votes democrat afterwards.

Humor always has an element of truth to it, that's what makes something funny. There is no element of truth to this skit which is why it is like a liberal meme, it's totally unfunny because there is no truth behind it.

I mean, he did do this character before. They just slapped a MAGA hat on him and he did it again because the left hates Trump so much.

There was a time in the last century, SNL would produce a great show......that went away decades ago.

Late night comedy was in fact......great late night comedy.....in the last century....

Johnny Carson and other comedians were excellent. Even David Letterman, before he flipped left.

Those late 1960's and 1970's comedy shows were the best......

I was more bothered by his church comment.

Say what you want about the Christian faith, but what he was saying in jest is 100% true. If more people had 'church' values, and treated their neighbor better than themselves, we wouldn't be in this mess. The fact they laugh at that notion tells you all you need to know.

Everyone who voted for Trump is a MAGA racist/Christian/hillbilly? Umm...

If they ever stop assuming everyone else is the problem....maybe they'll learn something.

But shows like this are for entertainment only. I'll laugh at the funny stuff, and brush off the stupid stuff, and go on with my life.

It was also pretty funny, as the skit was centered around the Doug character having a lot in common with the black contestants. This one missed the mark.

Here's the original.

What is sad is that SNL has some very funny skits and was the birth place of many of our greatest comedians. But, these skits get overshadowed when they do stupid woke stuff. I used to watch in the 70s thru early 2000s. The 50 year anniversary show had some great moments. The Tom Hanks part was just offensive. Their "weekend update" news has always had a liberal slant. I have never watched any of their current stuff in the past 15 years.

It wasn't offensive.

It was very funny, as it shows that many Trump supporters have more in common with most black voters than they do with White Women's Instagram, the left's major voting block.

It was also from 2020, I believe, so at least 4 years old.

The clip in the tweet can kinda be offensive it taken out of context.

Of course, that is exactly all the media does these days. Take things out of context, or outright lie, to spread the messages that are paid for by their owners, UASID.

The jokes about the sauce drawer "and that guy Doug" are awesome.

Here is Bo Burnham's White Woman Instagram for reference:

Did the 50th anniversary episode show the entire Black Jeopardy skit, or only that short clip with the handshake? That's really important.

SNL used to be funny as they lampooned everything and did not write from a dogmatic position. Now they start with dogma and do anything to protect it

EDIT: he also does the afraid to shake the hosts' hand in the original but it didn't come off as Maga Racist when I first watched it.

The repeat from last weekend sure did though.

They did an entire skit with Eddie Murphy impersonating Tracy Morgan, who was next to him impersonating another character. Then they swapped out Eddie Murphy for Tom Hanks.

That was actually funny. The new one was just gross.

It's interesting watching these folks keep making fun of Trump supporters when he won the Popular vote and not realizing that they are the ones who are in the minority now making fun of the majority. The overt racism jokes though just aren't funny at all though, acting as though a MAGA supporter won't shake a black mans hand is disgusting.

Everyone take it easy. The Doug reboot fell flat for sure, but if you look up "Black Jeopardy" skits there are several, and while they make fun of the white contestants they are poking fun at black culture and stereotypes way more. From the contestants, categories, answers, prizes, etc. it is all making fun of blacks.

That said, SNL is liberal trash for the most part.

The problem is that if you didn't see the original skit, this might not have made sense. Last night was a love letter to SNL, so there was context to almost everything they did. The original skit's point was to show that the black and white people have a lot in common. The original skit was funny.

The outrage I am seeing about this today is kind of embarrassing honestly, because it's generally people who didn't watch the whole thing or the original skit. It's obvious that the people complaining on twitter etc. didn't take the time to watch it, didn't get the irony, or are just ignoring it to score political points.

The original skit started out with black jeopardy contestants giving side eye to the white guy in a MAGA hat being on there, but as it went on they found out they all have a lot in common (in fact, this is how Trump made gains in the black vote).

I agree SNL is full of a bunch of leftist sycophants and it hasn't been funny for a while, but of all the things to get pissed off about from that show, I think the outrage about this one is misplaced. The *****ing, mostly from the left but this time from the right, is why comedy isn't allowed to be funny anymore.

It started off kind of funny with the original skit back in the day...this was extremely cringe worthy. Only left winged hunger games capitol freaks in their posh gated commjunities find this type of sh** funny.

Even the acting, where he acts terrified to shake a black mans hand, it extremely awkward anf horrendously acted out.

I honestly thought for a minute that they would re-calibrate and adjust accordingly, but they are even more out of touch than I thought.

That was absolutely horrible. And I thought the first one years ago was pretty funny.

I saw the original skit. This wasn't funny. Him getting all shaky at the thought of shaking a black man's hand was just stupid and awkward. Horrible acted. And hyper out-of-touch. No one knows anyone like that. Comedy is supposed to have SOME basis in reality. This could not be more out-of-touch and off the mark.
