I don't remember seeing anyone since I've been posting in this thread with any regularity saying that it 100% is dei related, but I may have missed it. What we ARE saying is that because these companies have placed these hiring practices in the spotlight for years, that the logical conclusion is that their new pilots have to at least be examined in that regard. When you say you're hiring someone because of their race, sex, sexual orientation or some other stupid metric that isn't explicitly THE ABSOLUTE BEST PERSON FOR THIS JOB, then it is only logical to assume that this person was hired for a reason other than being the best person for the job. I mean they came out and TOLD US that's why they were hiring people. The masses jumping straight to that is no one's fault but those who championed that hiring practice. You're upset with the wrong people.

I really wish instead of DEI they would have adopted something closer to the Rooney Rule in the NFL where they are required to interview at least one minority for a head coach position BUT they still can hire who they consider to be the best person for the job REGARDLESS of race.
It's greatly improved diversity in the head coaching ranks but not at the expense of hiring coaches solely due to the color of their skin. For instance, our own Dan Campbell would NEVER get an opportunity to coach in the NFL if it was run like they were running DEI over the last 4 years.

Date of issue means nothing; a new certificate is issued every time something changes, including for a change of address.
Also, going by the limitations, this person was most definitely NOT the Pilot in Command.

If the pilot got an ATP a month ago, they have been flying for years. At least 1200 hours as pilot in command, previous licenses of private and commercial, multi-engine and instrument ratings, likely 300 or more hours flying turbines.

I doubt it was an all-female crew but I think it was an inexperienced female who landed the plane...badly and a very experienced veteran male co-pilot who probably was pushed into training the younger pilots with real-world experience and it bit him in the ass.
The reason I think it was a female pilot is it would have come out by now if it wasn't and because the CEO of Delta said it was an experienced "crew" leads me to believe the co-pilot was VERY experienced and the pilot was pretty green but add them together and it suddenly becomes an "experienced" crew.
Also the reason I think the very experienced veteran pilot was a male is that's what the vast majority of pilots were in the 80's and 90's so it's reasonable to assume.
It's also sad that I have to qualify all my answers to avoid being called a sexist but I'm sure I'll be called one anyway.

Zero requirement for turbine time, which I already told you earlier.
Oh and ATP requires 250 hours PIC, not 1200
