If you want to keep digging that hole, we'll keep watching.

The passengers should have become suspicious when extra seat cushions were handed out upon boarding

Reminds me of the Seinfeld bit at the rental counter when they didn't have a vehicle for him and he's like "anybody can TAKE a reservation but it's the HOLDING of the reservation that's the most important part of the reservation."

I think the upside down plane could be considered evidence.

With each passing year and the lengths that DEI has infiltrated everything...it makes me more sympathetic to the firefighter dad in American History X

Might have 300 hours in flying turbines but looks like could have used a little more time landing turbines
No kidding. And therein lies the rub.

Simulators today are so realistic that you get type rated without ever flying the actual airplane.

I can remember years ago when we got upgraded 727 sims and the company discontinued training flights (where you would take pilots who had completed sim training and go to Montgomery or someplace else and do touch and go's for 3+ hours.)

We were having some difficulty getting pilots qualified in line ops because they couldn't land the airplane safely.

It comes time for a line check meeting and during a Q/A with the VP of Flight Ops, I asked if there was any chance of getting trainers back on the 727. The answer was no. Never again. I responded a little mutedly, I guess we're still flying trainers. We're just carrying passengers on them now.

Didn't go over well.

Other than the heavy advertising by her employer that they engage in such a thing

So no evidence?

Keep digging. Fun to watch libs look stupid

I'm not a lib. Right now there is no evidence whatsoever that she was a DEI hire. That's a fact.

The company has a DEI agenda. Obvious evidence for this.
The woman pilot was relatively new to these jets. Evidence of this has been presented.
The plane crashed upon a very hard landing. It's hard to deny this evidence but I wouldn't put it past you.

That's what evidence looks like. Is it conclusive evidence that DEI was a factor in this crash? No. Not yet.

But is there strong evidence that this airline has discriminatory DEI policies? Yep. They should be grounded until they prove that such policies have ended and that they aren't endangering the public with their current workforce. And that goes whether this woman's inexperience and performance was an issue or not.

You're whiteknighting for a woman who quite literally just proved she had no business at the controls of an airplane with other people aboard. She landed with the wrong side of the plane on the ground.

For ****'s sake, stop defending her.

Would you put your family on a plane that Kendal Swanson is piloting?

From the background it sounds like an inexperienced crew that messed up. Luckily everyone survived

The last 2 times I have been to Milwaukee the pilots landed the planes so hard that the overhead cabins flew open. Maybe they misread it and they should flare to land and not bounce.

Saw an X post where the pilots on a plane both announced they were ex military and passengers applauded. They were just happy to know their pilots were competent.

From my experience, taking off and flying level is the easy part. Landing, on the other hand, takes practice.
The pilots came in "hot", the landing gear collapse, the wing came off and the plane flipped over. Sounds like a rookie mistake.

sts7049's null hypothesis: females and POCs are as capable as anyone when it comes to ATC and flying jet planes. The only reason they are not doing so in numbers similar to white males is because of systemic racism and sexism by white males.

Logos null hypothesis: until 2009, the best and most capable humans were doing ATC and flying jet planes, which happened to be mostly white males by like 95%.

sts - while I'm quite sure there are some competent females and POC pilots, I'll continue to prefer to fly with the white males. I like my odds.
