sts7049's null hypothesis: females and POCs are as capable as anyone when it comes to ATC and flying jet planes. The only reason they are not doing so in numbers similar to white males is because of systemic racism and sexism by white males.

This is what sucks for members of these groups... People will start assuming they are a DEI hire, even if they are not. Had the exact conversation with my wife today. Being a woman has not helped her career at all as an attorney. But someone now can see her in a leadership position and assume that.

Which means that to keep these flight schedules going the airlines are probably putting some unqualifieds of all colors and sex into these planes.
