It's a woman, so that's proof DEI is to blame! Never mind that these regionals will hire anyone with ATP minimums and the ability to fog a mirror. F16 assumes they're turning away hordes of overqualified white guys.
So glad I stepped away from this thread the past day or so. My goodness.
GAC your comment lines up with what I've read and heard from others. Both in the US and globally the industry faces a shortage of pilots. It's an expensive "hobby" to start, and the airlines don't have the time or the resources to get someone 1500 hours of PIC before they can get their ATP. The military too is probably cranking out fewer pilots, and even those there is no guarantee they keep flying after they take off their camo.
A YouTuber said it well on a video a while back. As a rookie pilot you have two buckets. One is full of luck and the empty one is your experience. Your goal is to fill your experience bucket before you empty your luck bucket. This goes when you get behind the stick in your first Cessna 150 or 172 and continues all the way through whatever you keep flying. Gliders, F18s, Saabs, CRJ, Boeing, Airbus, etc.
This pilot was female. Everyone on this thread circle jerking themselves that she was only hired for her lady bits is only pleasuring themselves for their own dopamine hit of self gratification. We KNOW she was a newer pilot so probably minimal total hours and very few on type. But F16 facts be damned, truth takes a back seat to the agenda and feelz on this board.
