Don't really care about hockey but in a tangential kind of way I have a question … saw a guy at the Arky hoops game with a Texas A & M hockey shirt on. Is this a joke , real thing, or maybe field hockey?

A&M has had a club hockey team since the 90's I believe. I played when I was a student.

Texas A&M ice hockey is a club sport that plays in the Texas Collegiate Hockey Conference (TCHC), which is in division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).

The season typically runs from September to February, and play their homes games at Spirit Ice Arena in College Station.

Unfortunately, the team doesn't keep it's X page as updated as I would like, which makes in harder to follow them than I would like.

The TCHC playoffs were held last week, and I believe the Aggies advanced to the Conference Championship game where they lost to TCU 7-6 in overtime. Had they won they would have qualified for the ACHA Division 2 national championship tournament.

you are correct. It started as an inline hockey team and transitioned/split to ice hockey after I graduated.
