Jordon Peterson, a card carrying "classic liberal" that does not identify with conservatives, but is scared to death of the Marxist death march this country has been going down due to his lifelong study of the horrors of communism, is accused of what, exactly? Bad political strategy?

He thought that Kavanaugh was "too divisive" and should step down. He said nothing about whether or not Kavanaugh was a good pick.

This is a man who got fired from his job, and lost his license to practice therapy, because he refused to use DEI pronouns.

There is a reason why Trump is POTUS and JP is not. JP refuses to bow to Marxists that demand subordination. Trump punches those same Marxists demanding subordination in the mouth, and then double foot drop-kicks them right in the pocketbook, sending them through the press table.

JP is a fine intellectual, and his review of the importance of the Bible in the foundation of Western philosophy and the reasons for the West's success, and his arguments that Nietzsche was wrong, is a giant gift to MAGA. He, more than any single other individual (well, except maybe Rogan) is more responsible for the youngest of our male voters swinging hard right.

Jordan Peterson apparently simply made a wrong call. He believed the Kavanaugh claims (which is an option) and then was thinking strategically about it being too divisive a pick to win through. Nothing very sinister about that-- just mistake. His bona-fides as an anti-Left and even forefront in trying to restore the role of men in the wave of all the gender bender and feminist extremes is high energy, to say the least. If not supporting Kavanaugh is the only basis, doesn't wash.

I've read and watched everything of JP's. I probably introduced him to most people on this board. That's why I said I didn't want to believe it.

I thought Cerno was craziy the first time he brought it up too. But then again that's how gatekeeping works. Apparently, JP signed with the big media company a few years ago and overnight started to avoid certain "Maga" topics.. His daughter has said some pretty stupid things lately.too on US politics. CM stuff, which is rich given that they both fled canada.

Clearly you don't know who Cernovich is. He's the one that got the Epstein files unsealed. He produced a documentary hoaxed that was universally banned. He's been in the game a long time. If he says something, you should take it seriously.

Maybe cerno is overreacting a little with JP. The others are definitely grifters. I don't think JP has been the same since his benzo incident. He may just be a little naive of politics or undoubtedly influenced by media handlers.

They told hime he'd have to basically subject himself to some kind of 're-education' done by a committee of left wing academics, and he refused to do it. Everyone should consider that a person's politics/policy positions are not fixed in concrete. People change as they grow older. A 25 year old doesn't have a completely formed brain, it certainly isn't completely informed.
A person's attitudes and beliefs are also heavily influenced by life environment. Did he/she change jobs and now works where previously held beliefs are a danger to the personal bottom line? People are capable of justifying drastic changes of attitude in their own minds.

No one's politics should be considered static. Only extremely principled and pragmatic people are capable of maintaining political stability in the face of all external influences. Those who are not that disciplined have a very difficult time even adhering to the principles set out in the US Constitution.

How exactly has JP changed since his recovery from an extremely hard to recover from disease? The fact that he had a crazy bad benzo addiction and recovered is a feather in his hat, not a ch-ink in his armor. That disease eventually claims the life of most people that fall into it.

How is he naive of politics? How has positions changed based on his media handlers?

I agree with all of that. You added the nuance, but I stand by my statement as true. He did get fired. The reason used for his termination is that he refused to use DEI pronouns because they were forced speech based on Canadian law.

Thank you for the context though. He's not rude, he will treat everyone with respect if you treat him with respect. But he won't bend the knee to forced speech. Honorable.

But, it's dangerous to cross swords with him. He thinks faster than the normal human being, and if you get cross with him, he is very likely to raise an eyebrow, grimace a bit, and then politely intellectually grin **** you.

I'll speak for the classical liberal/libertarian faction that's concerned the bureaucratic reductions and doge-inspired spending cuts aren't dramatic enough and are easily reversible. At the same time, these cuts could motivate the blue team to bolster political support and emotional firepower, potentially causing a whipsaw effect that leads to greater government overreach when they regain power.

We already saw the expansion of government during the Biden presidency as a post-Trump reaction. Now imagine what happens if the public becomes dissatisfied and disillusioned during a time austerity and following this Trump administration.

I don't think he refused the re-education. I thought that the courts couldn't find anyone who would sit in a room with him and try to re-educate him. He said he would record and broadcast all of it online and no one wanted to get shown to be a fool in front of him.

If you have watched as much JP as you claim and take anything Cerno says about him seriously I really, really don't know what to tell you.

It blows my mind how anyone could be this easily fooled. Cerno has some good takes but this one is so obviously stupid it should never have been propagated. Both JP and Eric Weinstien have been who they say they've been for decades. It's very easy to verify this. They both have reams of published works long before either became famous.

If I had to guess, Cerno is getting jelly about the spotlight.
