^ This is most likely what's occurring.

Used to see them all the time on the tracks that parallel Highway 36. It's just moving equipment from one installation to another in most cases.

I'd be far more concerned if they were rolling armor down the highway itself.

Or it's Jade Helm V2 about to kick off. Always that possibility.

Seeing them moving through the interior is fairly normal. When southbound tank and APC trains start coming through Navasota in the dead of the night back to back like in 1990 and late 2001, that's when you start paying close attention.

We used to practice loading an Engineer company on C5A and C130 at Shaw AFB. For trains they would pull a flat car to Ft Jackson and we would load there.
I imagine it is all done by computer now, but we had a "map" of the plane and car and every tie down. We used exact tie downs that someone had figured out and numbered so weight and length would not make plane or car lean . It was pretty harrowing to get it right because you were being evaluated.
Someone had fun loading those tanks.

I have it from an insider that they are mobilizing up north. If by some odd chance, the Canuks beat our Freedom loving boys in Hockey, we will start the annexation of Canada on Friday.

Yeah, the speed limit drops to a crawl way before town, and they enforce it.

Cool area, though. Santa Fe Trail swales, Dry Cimarron, Tollgate Canyon (where the train is headed), dinosaur tracks at Clayton Lake, and if you go that way in the summer, the drive over the top of Johnson Mesa.

Not uncommon to see military freight moving on trains. I took this picture a couple years ago of the train tracks behind left field of Whataburger Field in Corpus:



I'm sure tanks are a little more eye-catching, though.

Hopefully to the border but maybe they are headed to Minnesota to fight the Somalians.
