No way illegals should get all the federal benefits citizens get. That's easy. That said, what 'federal benefits' do posters think are being provided? It's an easy thing to look up. Illegals get emergency medical care, meaning hospitals can't turn away anyone in critical condition needing life saving care. Citizens with no money or health insurance and illegals included. The kids of illegals can attend public schools. Illegals get zero federal 'welfare' cash of any kind.

One thing people complaining about the cost of illegals tend to overlook is what they ADD.

• A study by the Institute for Tax and Economic Policy (ITEP) found that undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in taxes in 2024.
  
• Of that total, $59.4 billion went to the federal government, and $37.3 billion went to state and local governments.

And of course, in addition to the tax revenue they produce to both Federal and State coffers, they spend on groceries, housing, services, and all the other things people need or want to get by, helping fuel the economy.

So, there should obviously be no free ride for illegals and they shouldn't get the benefits a citizen can and should expect, but they are obviously not the parasitic freeloaders that some here seem to think.

We already have that, they get around it by having anchor babies. Once they have that baby, in comes the lone-star cards and housing

So unless he said "No benefits to illegals, even illegals with an American child"

It does nothing, now Biden probably had an executive order to give them additional benefits and Trump is probably cancelling that but I do not think it does anything else.

States can still fund them if they want as well

School and lunches are partially funded by the Federal government. That means schools will not be getting any Fed funds for those who are not here legally. Based on what see, that's about $2500 per student every year. Good luck to those schools who want to go it alone.

Ask a teacher how many meals are "served" and then tossed because the schools get paid for the number of meals they serve rather than how many kids get fed.

That food gets served year round. I remember hearing on Hispanic radio in Houston informing parents how to get free food through summer school programs.

Well a lot of the times kids just toss them into trash without touching them since the meals are pretty nasty.

Perhaps, but there is a built in perverse incentive for the schools to produce meals whether needed or not.
