You're absolutely correct. Gainesville is close to 25% Hispanic.

11 years old is too damn young for a suicide. Unless it's jumping off something high or gunshot wound I'm a little surprised a kid that young could even inflict that damage on themselves. Hopefully they're investigating the specific cause. Also pray that the family finds peace in the country from which they came.

i live within 10 miles of gainesville texas and am in town 3-4 times a week. this area is very populated by hispanics to the degree that in some cases they are comfortable enough bullying other races because of their numbers. i can't speculate on what happened it is clearly a huge deal in my neck of the woods but i would be surprised by this based on my knowledge of this area in general.

Who reports school bullying to a government agency? I have only heard of people reporting it to school admin.

Regardless, bullying is sad, period. It is not more sad somehow if a kid is bulied over citizenship status vs physical appearance etc etc. Only the left would try to politically "weaponize" a story like this. It's disgusting.

And that's why my grandkids are home schooled. They are undoubtedly happier for it. Bullying is a pandemic in public and even private schools. No discipline to prevent it. Now if you are in a bathroom while several are vaping, though you did not participate, you are lumped in with the vapers and you get sent to alternative school along with being suspended from the sports teams. Evidently they take a hard line on that.

As a Trump voter and someone that was bullied when I was younger, the school not having reports isn't indicative of no bullying occurring. Now there's kids being kids and then there's really bullying. Not sure which (if any) occurred here.

Tragic either way.

Not to negate the intense pain parents feel when losing a child, but this is a pretty obvious money grab.

Look for a go-fund-me account to be set up in a few hours. Bonus points if the mom gets a free trip to New York to talk about her loss on a morning news show.

i am not certain to be honest. i know the girl did commit suicide and it's being viewed as a tragedy which an 11 ur old commiting suicide is a tragedy. i am just surprised by the direction the blame appears to be going. definitely would wait for more details on this one.

It means they found her lifeless body, and at some point after that, she was declared dead. From the story, it sounds like someone tried to revive her.
