An official from the Department of Ed disclosed that the department is operating as a rogue "sanctuary program" for illegal immigrants, while evading DOGE oversight by unauthorized use of Signal.

There was talk of shutting down the Dept of Education for being worthless given test score haven't changed in decades and that states are largely responsible for education anyway. And now this. Perfect time to kill this useless overrated department. Shut it down.

I was just discussing this. That particular demo is surprisingly, disproportionately high in spilling the beans. Seems a psychological component of that demographic. It would make my question ever hiring them for a position which requires secrecy. Weird considering what many must go through trying to stay in the closet. It's almost as if trying to hide certain things makes them overcompensate by a need to reveal other things.

Hypothetical: if the CEO of your gigantic company said to spend money in a specific way and you decided not to, then specifically spent the money in a way he indicated he did not approve of, would you expect to be fired? What about the other people involved in hiding it and approving the unauthorized spend? Would you expect them to be fired?

One step further - let's say you got some sort of benefit for the spend you authorized? Would you expect to be prosecuted for embezzling funds?

Maybe, but my understanding is that it's pretty well encrypted, kinda like WhatsApp now. Had a former coworker that was Marine Intel attached to BP toward the end of his active duty. Said they used Signal for personal convos that didn't belong on secure .gov lines.

Not true. One of my first jobs at a Big 4 accounting firm was to stream porn.

Granted, we were working with a software company and proving to them we could download their software from Warez sites, but I got my own office and a stand alone laptop.

I got the software, we got the project, and later folks were told not to do that again.

Not only have test scores not improved but since it's inception, US students have dropped substantially compared to the rest of the developed world. We've stayed the same or gotten worse while the majority of the rest of the world has gotten better. Complete failure.
