I say this not because I fear there will be very useful, helpful programs and services that will go away, but I am confident that legitimately services will reappear quickly to serve needs because we are Americans.

Let all of the rot burn to the ground. Stay the course and it will all work out. We will have increased freedoms, more responsive government (local and state) vs Fed and we will be no longer be imposed upon not by people who use our morals against us.

Agree with your sentiment to some degree but if we just limit the feds to what the Constitution specifically enumerates I think a lot of the waste and fraud will go away at that level. All institutions don't need to be " burned down" . Many do but "all" is a slippery slope that may not turn out as you expect. The left has been trying to burn it all down surreptitiously for decades and that got us where we are. We don't really want a current rewrite of the Constitution imo. There would be a lot of risk in that in today's world imo.

The problem is Trump does great things to limit it one second and then tries to use it himself for control the next. I'm all for limiting fraudulent spending on bogus programs outside the US not tied to allies. I'm firmly against expanding the executive power under Trump. Those claiming to be conservative can't have it both ways.

I agree that we need massive government reform. I think there is a blind spot, though, that has to be addressed in the context of this reform, and that is the large segment of society that make up Cradle-to-Grave entitlement recipients. There are generations of people in this country that know nothing other than the social welfare system. There has to be some sort of soft landing for them or we're going to see massive social unrest. In my opinion.

The problem is cultural. There's no accountability. They don't get audited, there's no performance reviews or consequences for all these beauacrasies and their programs. They should be routinely audited and have strict performance objectives. If they aren't met they get cut, make it institutional, so it happens automatically without need for congress to vote on it. Example, the USPS lost increasingly more money yet hired an additional 190k people. How does that make any sense. The department of education can't improve any metric, they should get cut. When people know their jobs are on the line they'll start giving a *****
