The amount of money spent on ads must be stunning. They must have every media outlet that relies on advertising as captive. Does this effect pricing? It would seem to have to.

My question is why the HIV commercial non-stop? I think the gays know about it. What the heck.
Interesting take. I like the pay-off so their "journalists" will overlook their company's evil explanationPsycho Bunny said:
I had a doctor tell me, that the reason drug companies push commercials, isn't because they want new customers
It's to let the exciting customers know that the drug is safe and to keep using it.
While that may be a side benefit to big pharma, the actual reason is to keep funneling money to media o media will continue to be big pharma mouth piece and not investigate or speak ill of big pharma.Psycho Bunny said:

Oh I agree with that statement. I happened to remember what a doctor told me once when I asked the question about why so many drug commercials.Eso si, Que es said:While that may be a side benefit to big pharma, the actual reason is to keep funneling money to media o media will continue to be big pharma mouth piece and not investigate or speak ill of big pharma.Psycho Bunny said:

My favorites:
The big fat woman on the Jardiance commercial that's struggling to dance by the fountain
The guy who looks like black Cookie Monster wearing a top hat on Wegovy
The commercials with all the gays and trannies with AIDS makes me wanna vomit. Can you imagine that sh*t being on tv in the 80's & 90's?! There would be a mutiny.

Why are drug ads that affect less than half a percent of the population (outside of the fat drugs) continuing to be shown on tv?

It's a 100 billion annual ad spend and is the primary reason we pay 10x more for drugs than every other western nation. It's obscene. Outlaw pharma ads on TV or prices will never come down.2wealfth Man said:

Of course it affects pricing, but even worse it affects news coverage. You think the big networks want their newscast pissing off their biggest advertisers?2wealfth Man said:

Lots on YouTube as well.titan said:
What is going on? Sheesh. Barely watch TV any more and other than the glimpse of such during the playoffs and Superbowl didn't realize it had gotten this bad. Sounds very off-putting
