You literally just described almost all politics. We have witnessed it from both sides for decades, most recently to an extreme level with the democrats. Unfortunately not many people are able to step back and see things as they really are because 1) its not easy to do, and 2) the "news" and media are all biased one direction or another.

So how do we get some leaders who don't just stoop to the same level as the other side when they get back in power? I truly don't understand the incessant defense from today's republicans that "the dems did xyz". If you hated it when the dems do it, why are you ok with it now? It drives me insane. It seems like the only principle that matters to so many people is "owning" the other side.

We do the similar things that distort market prices. Go look at sugar import quotas as an example that give US a higher sugar price than the world. We did the same thing with peanuts for a long time.

We also pour a lot of milk down the drain in the US because the cows have to be milked even if there is insufficient demand.

I never said I condoned anything.
I simply said blaming one side and pretending the other is innocent is asinine. That's true for all of us. Calmer heads prevail.

On another note, Violence and destruction being condoned by the anyone on either side is both stupid and counterproductive. No one should be doing it.

The reality is that people should be better at being able to get together, work through solutions and compromise for peaceful and effective solutions.
