Seems like there's more facts coming out slowly and that no one HERE knows what actually happened. Because it now appears a good bit of what was discussed on this board before the thread disappeared isn't factual accounting.

Knife guy is screwed (and rightly so). He can't claim self defense or castle doctrine because he was obviously not fearful for his life or else he would have just left. Deadly force was never justified. And he was taunting the victim IN THE VICTIM'S SPACE before the victim reacted.

Have you ever noticed how some people listen to respond rather than to understand? I believe this applies to reading as well. As I mentioned, some accounts of the incident may be inaccurate. From this board it was said that a Black kid wanted a seat occupied by a White kid and attempted to force him to get up. As details emerge this perhaps is untrue. Reports indicate that the attacker made physical contact with the victim first, among other details that remain unclear.

The general public tends to only need a couple pieces of information to form an opinion, the legal process demands a closer examination of the details. Even if the events unfolded exactly as Karmelo's supporters claim, his reaction did not match the level of force he faced. At the very least, this could be classified as manslaughter. If the original accounts from the board are accurate, it could potentially be viewed as premeditated murder. Therefore, understanding the facts is crucial. Does that make sense?

So, did he go to his backpack and get a knife once argument started? If so, he had time to get away, might have even turned his back on accuser.
Guy was supposedly to have offer from McPhereson college, whereever that is, and we are to believe he got his ass kicked, we are to believe he was going to stay out of trouble.
When I handled inter racial fight, the black kids saw one thing, the white kids another. Took me all damn day to get the truth. Often good kids who witnessed it were too scared to tell the truth. I learned to promise good kids anonymity and then go hit both sides with truth and finally get real story.

In a court of law, sure. As far as public opinion is concerned, we've got what we need. He brought a knife to a sporting event, got in a confrontation and killed someone.

This situation is so tragic all around. But here's the thing. He had a knife with him. This wasn't something he just picked up in the area. Even if they did have a prior beef, and even if the kid was being an ass, you don't pull out a knife and stab him. This really isn't hard.

What happened to having a fist fight? What happened to a little shoving and pushing.

Under no circumstances, was it OK for this kid to do what he did and he should spend a very long time in prison. I knew this would happen given the races I knew many would try to defend him, but it's disgusting that it has.

And of course, if the races were reversed, the Democrats would've been screeching for the last few days. Common sense and logic has just gone out the window the last 10 years. We see senators and representatives of our country, defending raping, murdering domestic terrorist gang members over American citizens, we see many cheering on a guy who killed a man because he was a CEO of a healthcare company.

Democrats are really sick people.

But back to this. I'm sure the kid is not pure evil but he made a poor choice and now he's going to have to pay for it. It was a choice he did not and should not have to make under any circumstances, regardless of what happened.

As I noted above, Jason Whitlock has done a deep dive into this in the context of hip hop diss culture. He contends this one of the biggest challenges black parents face and that it has caused many young black people to hate white people and, even in affluent suburban areas, feel the need to emulate hip hop values to validate their racial identity.

They were pushing him out of the tent because he was apparently going around looking through paths tents for things to steal and they caught him.

I'd go with looking for trouble. In my experience, the athletes and other students who are there to support the athletes will leave their stuff under the tent. This includes water bottles, wallets, purses, backpacks, etc. The only time someone was ever under a different school's tent, he or she was with someone from that school. Going off of the fact that it hasn't come out that Karemlo was with a friend who went to that school, I'm going to conclude that means he wasn't. He was in an area he didn't belong and was looking for a fight when someone said something to him.

I have seen this one poster all over social media talking about how Austin was completely entitled by telling Karmelo where he was and was not allowed to sit. How she misses the complete entitlement of a stranger thinking he can sit under the tent of an opposing school among the students personal things, I don't know. We do not know witnesses have yet to say anything to the media that make Austin sound like he was the aggressor here.

A kid was sitting in an area he should have never been in and then challenged people who told him to get lost. He told one of the other kids "put your hands on me and see what happens" while refusing to move. Witnesses say they saw him reach in his backpack before any violence had happened. Karmelo was looking for trouble and he found it. Now one kid is dead and Karmelo will never have the chance to amount to anything in life.
