They will be nice and inclusive in the beginning. Then they will start their creeping Islamization. Ramadan will become a norm at the highest level. At first he will have other religious events, then slowly drop those. Then prayers 5 times a day will be "allowed" otherwise you are a racist. Special prayer spaces (all religion of course, but in reality used only by Muslims) will be created in government buildings. Like in Canadian airports. Then loudspeakers from buildings to call people to prayer. Hate the sound?? You racist!!!
Then the city council will be forced to make statements against Israel even when Gaza has nothing to do with NYC (I saw this happen in my own little town when the Muslims made pests of themselves at village council demanding a resolution against Israel)
Then women should be "modest" and dress up like penguins, else they are inviting men to r@ped them. Cleavage visible? Tight top? Go for it, Muhammad.
Very twisted.
Slippery slope. Never go there.
As to muslims, the country would be better off if there were none at all.

It's a shame what NYC has become. That this guy could even be close to winning the mayor's race is a sad statement on how far it has fallen, especially since 9/11.
You want to run off businesses and kill tourism - electing this guy is how you do it.
He'll erect a grand big mosque in the middle of NYC and watch the Muslims from the world come streaming in, boosting tourism.

I am no proponent of Islam generally as it is backwards and anti-reason and anti-progress (like most religions/dogmas but generally worse for many reasons) but it is always funny to me that the folks that are most anti-Islam (as compared to other religions) seem to generally have never interacted with many Muslims.

I have interacted with many many Muslims, have many friends even today who are Muslims and I still HATE their religion Islam. This is a cult that was started by a psycho for world domination. Must concede he has done a great job marketing it.
Because I judge those people as humans. Islam as a religion is a terror handbook. My Muslims are all BAD Muslims because they are my friends. Their wives don't wear burkas and are bad Muslim women because they "display" themselves to men not their fathers or husbands.
lol I used to have that same view honestly. My view changed when I went on a mission trip right after graduation with a church in College Station to Tunisia and met with Muslims for 6 weeks. It was really remarkable honestly. I kept thinking wow - these guys are exactly like us. Genuine believers trying to do their best. It was an interesting experience. Most everyone in this world is trying to do the right thing. Why it is so crucial to have the right beliefs. I have no problem saying that some dude from the 600s who says he saw cool things should not be who society strictly follows for moral advice and guidance. We've made a lot of progress since thenRydyn said:This is true.pollo hermanos said:

It is only the truly radical Muslim extremists that want to kill you because you are infidel.
The rest of them just pray everyday that you will be killed because you are infidel.

That's totally fair - pretty close to where I am as well on Islam generally

"I have a friend who is a Muslim" won't hunt. They all support the radicals. Passive support is no excuse. Islam is not compatible with Western culture.

Clearly they dont all support the radicals.
Passive support is of course no excuse.
Agree generally that holding beliefs (or more importantly forcing others to hold such believes) that conflict with reason and (lower case) liberal freedom of thought/religion, etc. is antithetical to western values (or what I hope continue to be western values).
And those four things mean you are not compatible with Western culture or what point are you trying to make?infinity ag said:pollo hermanos said:It's more nuanced than that.Logos Stick said:pollo hermanos said:

Many of them (including my friends) provide cover for the terrorists and justify.
- They all hate Trump
- They all hate Modi, Meloni and other international leaders who don't pander to Muslims
- They all cry about Gaza all the time
- They all hate Israel
Good or bad, all Muslims I know follow the above.

There are tons of Christians that hate trump. Lots of Christians (or at least purported Christians) hate Jews (Luther wrote the pamphlet on how to torture Jews, of course).
Non-Muslims all over the world cry about Gaza because it is terrible.
Tons folks on the left and right hate Israel.

Ah, the old "most" argument. And you have no proof or citation for that silly claim. But tell me, what is it you hate about CEOs and corporations? Is it just corporations or do you hate LLCs for the companies that operate as such? Do you dislike those folks that make more money than you do? Do you hate those folks who have achieved more than you have? Do you avoid investing in common stock or are you somehow able to find a few companies who are run by CEOs who are not destructive? lolinfinity ag said:one safe place said:Not all CEOs are destructive. Ah the old "not all" argument. Yes. you are right. Not ALL are destructive.
But MOST of them are destructive.
Especially the big corporation ones. The small company CEOs are all trying to get by taking care of their people so they fall under the "good CEOs".

I thought it was Detroit. Minneapolis has many too.
It's a huge difference. United is a pure for-profit, private insurer. The Blues are independent licensees of the Blue Cross Blue Shield brand, regulated by the BCBS Association, and not-for-profit. There has been consolidation of plans in recent years (e.g. Elevance), but the core principle remains. I've been proud to work for both BCBSTX and BCBSLA for a combined 15+ years.TAMUallen said:schmellba99 said:
