I don't think there ever was a Trump plan because there was no pull out plan or refugee plan in place with anyone at the State Department. I don't think there were any appointee holdovers, but none of the career people had anything lined up. Trump made an agreement with the Taliban to leave Afghanistan, but that was like 8 months after he left office and wasn't going to be his problem after November.
Believe there were conditions that Taliban had to meet to initiate the withdrawl and the Taliban never met those conditions. Biden, or whoever was controlling him, just unilaterally decided an arbitrary date to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Partially true. There were conditions they were supposed to meet, and they didn't, but Trump had drawn down to only 2500 troops before leaving office. He had already initiated the withdrawal long before Biden took over while the Taliban increased attacks on the Afghan national forces and reiterated their goals to take over. On top of that, he insisted the Afghans release thousands of al-Qaeda and Taliban prisoners in 2020 as a part of the deal with the Taliban.

The Biden admin absolutely ****ed up in how they handled everything, but let's not pretend Trump didn't hand them a **** sandwich. Biden couldn't stop the withdrawal. Trump even bragged about it in speeches on multiple occasions before the fall of Kabul. Biden went with the moved up, somewhat arbitrary deadline with the idea of getting out quick before things completely went to **** when it was kind of apparent they were heading that way already.

I thought those morons just wanted a 9/11 20 year anniversary photo op, which is why they rushed it stupidly. Talk about a clown show.

how many interpreters were there in Afghanistan?

10,000?

every Afghan over here claims to have been one
Yeah, lets vet him. If he was an actual interpreter and helped our troops he should stay. If he's one of the many claiming to be one but wasn't then he gots to go.
Everything is about a flash headline. They know people don't read articles or do any digging of their own.

Note that Trump has shut down the notoriously corrupt Afghan refugee office.

Every Afghan brought across the globe by Mayorkas/Biden should be deported, without exception, whether that is back to Afghanistan or somewhere else close to 'home' for them.

That one had a junior 'partner' in Moore public school. These vermin come from/bring the most disgusting culture on earth.

He was detained at his immigration hearing.

Deport! Deport! Deport! But not this guy. He has done more to help America than 99.9999% of Americans. Now we are going to reward him by sending him back to a country where he's dead on arrival. That ain't right.

Edit to add a little more information from what's available. He sought asylum at the San Ysidro Port of Entry where authorities granted him temporary parole. Before his arrest he was pursuing a Special Immigrant Visa which is pathway for Afghan nationals who worked with U.S. forces.

I was in Afghanistan. All of the interpreters we used were not necessarily good people.

It has been extremely difficult to get interpreters over here legally and its not like he walked over here. Whoever he is likely came illegally or overstayed his visa.

Biden Democrats flew them here, unvetted, by the tens of thousands, and shady NGO's funded by us (like "Houston Refugees Welcome") planted something like 18 percent in Houston alone.

In a Friday morning appearance on Fox News' Fox & Friends, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard said the Biden administration had let more than 2,000 Afghan nationals with terrorism ties into the United States in the wake of the 2021 botched Afghanistan withdrawal. The startling number was revealed just weeks after two members of the West Virginia National Guard guarding the streets of Washington, D.C., were ambushed one died of her injuries and the other is still in the hospital recovering by an Afghan man who was brought to the U.S. as part of Biden's Operation Allies Welcome program.

According to DNI Gabbard, however, many of these Afghans now residing in the country aren't our allies, even if they did once work alongside our troops. She revealed that 100,000 poorly-vetted Afghans came to U.S. after the withdrawal, and of that number, "there are at least 2,000 who are known or suspected terrorists."

We said at the time they were unvetted. Because they ****ed up the withdrawal so badly and got good Americans killed, they let everyone get on the planes and brought them all here. I'm not even sure that part wasn't intentional.

Whoever made decisions during the Biden administration was a traitor.

Something is missing from this story.

Why wasn't he here legally? If not here on a valid visa, why was his asylum claim denied?

My Uber driver a few months ago was a former Iraqi helicopter pilot that served as an interpreter, but I presume he came here legally.

If he's not here legally he needs to be deported. If not back to his home country then we should find him a country that will not kill him.

He was here legally. He came through a legal port of entry and asked for asylum. He was granted temporary parol here until that claim could be heard, and he was already in the process of applying for a special immigrant visa, which is what Afghan interpreters are supposed to do.

This all probably hinges on the fact that Trump ended Temporary Protected Status for asylum seekers, including Afghan interpreters, in order to expedite deportations. That status expired in May, so that is probably why he had the master calendar hearing. The position of the government seems to be that he should go back to Afghanistan while his asylum and visa case is heard here, which seems stupid given the circumstances.

The judge denied the government's request to dismiss his case and scheduled a hearing to go over the merits of his claims and why the government thinks he should be denied and deported. Then ICE agents arrested him. That merits hearing would seem to be the time and place for them to present some kind of evidence or argument on why he should be barred from staying while his case is pending, but they apparently don't want to even go that far.

Honestly, I didn't think it's a stretch that he is telling the truth and bureaucrats are just rubber stamping everything in sight. ****ing things up and screwing people over is just about par for the course no matter what they're doing.

He was at the courthouse for a master calendar hearing the first stage of a removal proceeding in immigration court. Not attending a master calendar hearing is grounds for deportation.

The federal government made a motion to dismiss his case, according to his attorney Brian McGoldrick. The motion was not granted by the judge, who instead scheduled a merits hearing or the main hearing in which the government and respondents present their arguments for or against being deported for a few months from now.

Footage reviewed by Times of San Diego shows what happened next as McGoldrick and his client came upon authorities with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Two masked agents wearing jackets that said "Police ICE" waiting in a courthouse hallway asked McGoldrick for documentation or a court order, which he did not provide.

"Yeah, get him," said one unidentified agent to another. "Take him. Go ahead, take him."

Both ICE agents held McGoldrick's client, after which they repeatedly asked him for his name. Neither McGoldrick nor the client complied with their requests.

McGoldrick requested anonymity for the man for safety reasons and because, post-detention, he hadn't been allowed to consult with his client.

Despite handcuffing the man, ICE agents did not provide a warrant for the arrest. After repeated requests from observers to do so, they stated that they would show the warrant "in the elevator."

McGoldrick said that he was only able to view a copy of the warrant after his client was placed in a secure detention area. The warrant, according to McGoldrick, only bore his client's name.

im not sure why it was OK to rubber stamp their entry into the country inverted, but bad to rubber stamp those same folks now?
