Pam Bondi has filed a motion to stay proceedings. Judge granted extension of time for Defendant to respond to Oct. 29th. Good guys will file a response after that. Not sure if there will be any oral argument. After that, we get our ruling but then there will be appeals, perhaps up to the Supremes.

If Bondi messes this one up she needs to go.

GOA has been waiting for years to file this lawsuit. They were smart to limit their complaint strictly to the removal of the tax. If they challenge the NFA on the broader second amendment grounds and lose, we wind up in a worse place than if they hadn't filed at all.

Personally I want to see someone sue the state of Texas for taxing firearms and ammunition on the grounds that since the right to keep and bare arms was declared an individual right in Heller, taxation is now an infringement on individual rights.

But I suspect that is the next step with constitutional carry being the last step in restoring the Second Amendment.

She has a duty to at least appear to be making an effort. So if she's good she will sandbag and we won't know about it. Plus the plaintiffs selected northern district of Texas for a reason. The real fight will be at the Supreme Court.
