On June 18, elected officials from Alberta and Saskatchewan held their first joint caucus meeting in Canadian history to strategize how they will mutually declare their independence from Ottawa's economic colonialism disaster.

Alberta is pissed because they contribute 14% to Canada GDP despite being 11% of the population. They send $20B more to Ottawa than they receive back (YEARLY).

Saskatchewan is the largest O&G producing province and Ottawa caps their production.

BC (definitely a more moderate province politically) joined Alberta and Saskatchewan in the talks because of Ottawa regulations.

Ottawa is terrified. Their socialist safety net will crumble. The western provinces subsidize the eastern provinces.

Trump's statements on the "51st state" had an ulterior motive. He has sparked a secessionist movement in Canada.

There are lots of Canadian separatists that are collecting signatures for what could be the most important referendum in Canadian history.

Get your popcorn ready.

The UK has certainly been rattled; maybe it's now Canada's turn, & I'd love to see how Carney would handle such an event- LOL!!!

Signatures are actively being collected to bring a referendum sometime in 2026. It may still fail, but if Ottawa doesn't start paying attention to the western provinces, the movement will only grow. In essence, the western provinces are just colonies that exist to send money to the east. Whoever Toronto, Montreal and Quebec want as PM (basically the most progressive liberal) that's who will be elected. It's a basic numbers game as they are the population centers. Ottawa routinely blocks pipelines and advocates for carbon taxes that crush the western provinces and the O&G industry in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

If it fails in 2026, I predict it will eventually happen in next 10yrs. Maybe Trump will get involved and try to make a deal with the Alberta Premier Danielle Smith?

Popcorn ready.

Truthfully, Canada is a complete joke. They spend absolutely nothing on defense and have completely lived under our blanket since post WWII. They know it and we know it.

I really cringed at Trump early in this administration, post election, over the comments he made about them. But as the usual, he lays down the foundation and sits back and observes what happens.

The Russians no longer have the ability to invade North America via Canada. This was a concern from at least the 60's on. But Canada is stuck now. They really have nothing we want except maybe rare earth minerals/metals. Most of their land is simply uninhabitable. We have much more O&G and much higher quality. They are quickly running out friends.

They have been so insolent and arrogant against the US that they deserve to slapped around. Same with Mexico of course. We have gotten so soft under democrats. Way past time to make them concerned.

Look a lot of what Trump says can be chocked up to hyperbole or shock value. It's not necessarily wrong, though sometimes it takes a salient point and stretches it to incredulity. Usually there is something behind it.

We need better access to Greenland to counter Chinese and Russian influence in the Arctic. The Danes ignore it (mostly). Weird? Yeah, but not necessarily wrong.

51st state? Not only no, but hell no. But Alberta and Saskatchewan? Yeah I could see that. Even as an independent country it gives us a better working partner in those areas and we have all of the exact same problems we did before with the rest.

Now sometimes he means exactly what he says. The trick is reading between the lines, which is tough, is hard in a TikTok world and is woefully short on intelligent commentary.

Canada has become a socialist nation. Like all socialists nations there is unrest and people waking up and wanting out. Canada is a strange country.

Areas with Socialist tendencies should be in red as depicted.

The US political maps used to be that way.

Yeah I think some fake news outfit like CBS flipped that when Reagan was president, because they wanted to lie about the Dems not being communists or some such.

Pretty sure that dates to the 2000 Election, with Bush v. Gore. One of the networks (NBC?) used blue for Gore and Red for Bush.

Wisconsin is coming around to some degree . They went for Trump and they have an R Senator. I'd say there's hope in Michigan as well.

I'd like to see The R's put some banter out there about turning blue states red if for no other reason than I'm
Sick of hearing the leftists talk about turning Texas blue.

It seems inevitable at this point. Eastern Canada has a permanent grip on the government and treats Western Canada like its District colonies and chafing under all the problems with Canadas immigration policies. And with talk of Canada wanting to join the EU, the Western provinces know if that happens it will seal their fate having to comply with EU anti-energy, anti-farming and pro mass Islamic immigration policies

Now I don't necessarily think they'll want to join the US (especially BC) but if the US recognized this new country then it doesn't matter at all what Eastern Canada wants. The biggest thing would be keeping China from using a Indy BC as a way into North America

My sister has lived in Ottawa twenty five years and now holds Canadian citizenship. When she first moved there I visited quite often and one trip hung out with a friend of her husband that was French Canadian. He took me to some places in Montreal and we were sitting in a bar and there was a large group of men around thirty years old at the next table taking. One of them walked over and sat at our table and started talking about Quebec secession and he motioned over at their table and it was clear they were part of some kind of secessionist group.

If other provinces are able to leave I would expect the Francophones in Quebec to bail shortly after.

At one time in my life, I thought Strange Brew was the funniest movie I had ever seen.

I would have so much joy if Alberta and Saskatchewan told Ottawa "Take off, Hosers"

Absolutely, this was an obvious observation for anyone who does not have TDS.

Ultimately Trump didn't want the conservative to win, He also knew that the real power lies in the Canadian Senate is dominated by leftists', (Trudeau) and no real conservative swing would stand a chance to be brought to fruition.

Not Alberta, but parts of Canada are certifiably insane:

This is just the normal progression of things. The US is hanging on by a thread mainly through forced compliance and an ignorant populace. Pretty much no one, whether you are on the left or on the right or in the middle, is happy with the federal government. No one likes DC and/or certain regions telling other regions what to do. The balkanization will continue and I think eventually we will see North America break into autonomous regions with a collective defense with free trade between the nation states. IMO, the only thing preventing it is Mexico being in shambles.

I think its the only way. The US is going two different directions and the only way to survive without a war is to go back to a true Republic of states that make their own laws/culture, breakdown the federal government and keep a common defense.

I think this is an ideal situation more than being dominated by Washington, Ottawa, or Mexico City socialist elites.

But it would be extremely painful. I have to be honest - we have power right now. We should use it judiciously and crush the left NOW why we can so we can avoid all this.

It is going to get worse. I agree that we could crush the left right now but if the US remains intact that eventually the pendulum will swing the other way and the right will suffer retribution.

I am of the opinion that the US government will eventually collapse financially, we are just too deep in debt and you can't tax your way out. This will result in the collective of regional nation/states in North America. The question will be which nation fills the void on the world stage. China is teetering economically, Europe is a mess, so......???

I was in Three Hills, Alberta a good bit of June. My company has a shop in Didsbury and we do a good bit of business in Western Canada. We also have a co-corporate HQ in Ontario.

One morning a fella walks into the hotel lobby wearing a grey shirt with the outline of the US and Canada and all of the states and provinces in white. The US states and Alberta were all colored red. Inside Alberta was the#51. Across the top, "You'll get used to it."
