Trump has learned he can use the economics of tariffs and American buying power to get these countries to start playing nice and dealing on our terms. This is what you call winning.

US consumer is still "That *****" globally and no one else is even close. China is effectively a closed market, the Euros are in terminal demographic decline, and India/Africa are poor.

The US is 17% of China's trade.

Trump does seem to carry a big stick. I've never seen the US throw it's weight around like we do under Trump. In my lifetime at least(born at the end of Reagans term)..

Time to play tough. Our own government played too nice while trying to gain global influence and power….off of the backs of productive Americans.

I like his message to the world, too. If you want to do business with us then quit waging war.

We are also like 18% of Thailands GDP as far as their exports.

We shall see, but it sure hasn't worked out that way yet. At least in my case, business is good, costs are down overall, profits are good, and America is back.

I know it's hard for libertarians and folks on the left, but we should all be rooting for Trump. If he can leverage our buying power to actually stop wars and make this country stonger, we all win.

It truly amazes me that they can't give him any credit. They'd rather the U.S. go down in flames and Trump fail than to give the guy some credit and actually want him to be successful in the things that will make things better for all involved. It is pretty pathetic.

The US is 17% of China's trade.

And 76% of Canada's trade.

Canada is F'D.

The "big boy" on the block should not have to grovel to anyone.

During Reagan's term, a journalist who had been reporting on Presidents, compared Reagan to Carter.

He stated that when Carter entered a room of dignitaries, he wanted to be everyone's friend.

When Reagan entered a room full of dignitaries, everyone knew he was the President of the United States.

And this is what I want a President to portray.

That won't happen in your lifetime. We're one of a handful of net importers on earth. Everyone else needs us more than we need them.

Those aren't mutually exclusive. Far too many people act like only the U.S. is experiencing inflation or has entirely too much debt with poor demographics. That's the story of the entire planet. We are also one of a handful of net importers and global trade only exists because we let it. Stop looking the US in a vacuum because we don't exist in one. If we fall apart everyone falls apart.

Bill Maher is the only person I've seen on the left admit he was wrong about everything and give credit where it's due:

Evaporating? Forrest, have you heard about the booming stock and crypto markets, no tax on tips or OT, the massive permanent estate tax exemption, and the record transition of wealth? Maybe log off of the Huffington Post every now and then.

He gets things done using our global economic domination. They know he's serious about what he says as well and that makes a big difference.
Future GOP leaders take note - this is how you need to govern. Don't worry about appeasing the left. You can't do it anyway. Just get **** done.

Trump needs to carry that big stick into a full conference where they reaffirm their borders and agreements. Otherwise, they're just going to start fighting again relatively soon. They've been fighting on the border off and on for 100 years.
