Don't know if this has been posted or discussed but a coach/teacher at Celina ISD was arrested for videoing male athletes as they changed in the locker rooms. He is the son of the head football coach.

This came out today with a lawsuit being filed.

Heads need to roll big time.

The perp's dad was the athletic director for the district. From the article, it sounds like he knew about it as well.
ETA: not to say that the AD knew what was happening, but was more involved in trying to sweep it under the rug after the fact.

Schools need to take a very serious look at nepotism. The Celina head football coach's son can not and should not have a job in that district unless he's totally outside the area of athletics. If he wants to be a PE teacher at an elementary school (obviously that would have been a disaster in this case), fine. Art teacher or band director at the HS? Maybe. Principals and head coaches, among others, have way too much influence and are able to "run interference" for their "most favored nation" type employees.

That's another thing that needs to stop immediately.

If you're in a leadership position, school or other organization, and you subscribe to the good-ole-boy system, you're not a leader. At best, you're a politician.

I agree to a certain extent. A lot of time in sports dads who are the head coaches hire there children, friends, etc all the time. Mainly because they understand the culture, philosophies being taught, etc. Normally it works out fine, and it's a great asset to have. However, in this case it appears the son is a total POS. Going to be interesting to see how much the admin in the district knew and if it was being swept under the rug to keep Bob (head coach) happy.

My best guess is Bob along with other admin's will resign very soon.

To a certain extent, yes. At the same time, when you make hires, do you prefer to hire people you know are good employees or roll the dice on the unknown? I think many times there are good reasons for either option.

This is disturbing and as someone stated smells like Penn State with institutional knowledge that they tried to sweep under the rug.

2022-2023 Caleb Elliott is re-assigned from High School to Middle School due to an inappropriate relationship with a student
2024 Caleb is allegedly caught placing cameras in the middle school locker room
2024 Caleb is banned from the Middle School Locker room with no formal explanation to students or parents
2024 through 2025 Summer students stop making use of the locker room
August 2025 students begin using the locker room again
Students notice Caleb only comes in the locker room when other coaches are in their offices
Oct 2025 Caleb is caught by a student recording him on his phone
Oct 2025 Police find multiple photos and videos of students on his phone

Heard on DFW AM Radio this morning that he was not supposed to be in the HS locker room either. Someone needs to be tarred and feathered for this crap. Anyone with knowledge of this freak should do prison time.

His dad and anyone else responsible for keeping him on staff need to be fired and barred from public education ever again. And that's just a start. Criminal charges should be pursued as well.

"He's such a creep that we can't let him in lockerrooms but it's ok to keep him on staff" is absolutely insane. They are accomplices.

The other is the middle school principal. They say nothing is alleged against the AD or the principal (YET!!!), but the 3rd party investigator said their presence would be a potential hindrance and distraction to the investigation

Someone above summarized the history of allegations, but I just read an article with a few more details:

1) 2022-23 school year he is a substitute teacher at the HS and allegedly has an inappropriate relationship with a senior (not sure if boy or girl)

2) they moved him to a middle school for 23-24 with the thought getting him away from the older kids would prevent the issue in #1 (wtf)

3) during 24-25, he places cameras in the locker room. Cover story is it was for "theft prevention". School takes them out and sends an apology letter to parents.

4) at some point during 24-25, he is barred from the locker-room. I suspect because of #3, but the article is unclear if there was more. Either way, sounds like a bare minimum of 2 incidents (if not more) where he is clearly suspected as a creep that had broken the law. If #3 is true, that was a straight-up illegal act.

5) this fall he's back in the room, but as noted, times it when other coaches aren't around. On Oct 3, a kid seems him taking pics/videos and speaks up. Investigation commences and they find at least 12 images of naked or half naked boys on his phone

Long story short, daddy and the middle school principal are toast, at a minimum.

This has Penn State written all over it. Blows my mind that adults in charge facilitated this. They all need to burn for it. The perp, the dad and any admin that knew of it and didn't go straight to the local DA.

I know WHY it happens. But it is up to professionals in the district to ensure it does NOT happen this way. No head coach is worth all this because when it comes out, and it will come out, everyone involved either resigns or gets fired. I'm amazed too many people haven't caught on to that yet.

I'm not letting anyone off the hook here. Its way more than the son that is a total POS. His dad is running blatant interference for him. Either that, or he's stupid. (He's not stupid).

Coaches, particularly football coaches, in Texas are such a close-knit group that any coach can help his son get a good job in another district and avoid any appearance when there's an issue (not necessarily this bad -- just favoritism in things like promotion, better school assignments, etc.). This head coach could have made 20 phone calls to everyone he liked from Denison to McKinney and Denton to Greenville, and everyone in between, and placed his son in 2 days. He would have had multiple offers. Meanwhile, he would have gotten the scoop on other potential assistants that have all the things you mentioned and no baggage.

A good father helps his son. In this case, tough love would have been the answer. The dad probably had enough pull in Celina to a put his son in a job that was not near any childern and next get him into counseling. Looks like this was a case of denial on all fronts.

Very curious....... could this be the first case of an R doing the bad guy stuff? Celina is deep red so odds are high, but I still say the kid, if he voted, supports the bad guys.

My point to you was why he and other coaches get hired. NOT why he remained on staff. There is zero problems with a head coach hiring their son or relatives or friends if they meet the qualifications. There are problems though if the person is a known POS.

Won't be so much UIL imposing consequences as much as TEA.

Bill Elliott is close to retirement and could have that withheld pending outcome (among other things)

They let the AD/coach who is this creep's father retire today so that he can get his ass out the door before the lawsuits move forward. There is a district report coming out soon that will say no one knew nothin'. The guy put cameras in the lockerroom but no one found that suspicious, I guess. Pre-emptive lawsuit ass covering.

After interviewing 39 witnesses, Ortiz concluded that none of the eight allegations made against Elliott or the Celina ISD were substantiated.

The report found no evidence that Elliott participated in an improper relationship with a then-senior of the high school while substitute teaching during the 2022-2023 school year, nor was there any basis to refer the matter to law enforcement.

Investigators also determined that there was no indication Elliott was transferred to Moore Middle School in the summer of 2023 to avoid "terminating him upon discovery of an improper and unlawful relationship."

Allegations from multiple witnesses of a "confrontation between Caleb Elliott and another coach in relation to previous attempts to record children in the locker room" were not corroborated.

The investigation did not find evidence that Elliott placed cameras in the locker room at any time or that the district mailed "apology letters to select parents of children imaged by cameras in the locker room during the 2024-25 school year."

Investigators reported no witnesses to Elliott making students do exercises like jumping jacks or burpees naked and no reports or rumors of such conduct.

They interviewed no victims. Not saying they should be allowed to, but there's no way one can consider this investigated fully to the point of being able to make a conclusive judgment without doing so. Of course all of these administrators and teachers are going to say they knew nothing because they are mandatory reporters: any other answer means they are in absolute deep **** . You are confessing to a crime, setting yourself up to be sued personally, and ending your career.

Some of those things should be pretty easy to disprove. Like mailing apology letters to parents? Surely the lawsuits will be able to show this investigation was sub par.

It's a sham of an "investigation" and people will see right through this.
