Great with halting aid. Should have already happened but military intervention? Please, God, no.
If we are going to intervene in Nigeria, then why wouldn't we intervene in Sudan, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso and all others that Islamists are about to take over? Are any of these countries strategically important to us? Our only base on the continent is in Djibouti so that's the only strategic asset we have there.
The Russians are abandoning Africa as reported in the Mali thread and while China has made inroads they'll get rolled by the Islamist as well, eventually. Thus, it's not like we are giving anything up to another super power by not getting involved.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social Saturday that he had instructed the Defense Department to prepare for possible action in Nigeria, where he said the U.S. could go in "guns-a-blazing" with the goal of wiping out Islamist militants in the country. Trump also threatened to halt all aid and assistance to the country if it "continues to allow the killing of Christians."
The U.S. provided some $550 million in foreign aid to Nigeria this year, compared with about $880 million the previous year, according to U.S. government data.
