I'm trying to understand how this crazy idea would prevent global warming (I'm already a bit of a global warming skeptic but let's assume it's true).

At first I thought he was trying to build a cluster of satellites to block sunlight, but I think he's actually proposing harvesting the sunlight in outer space where you don't have to deal with weather and clouds and all that and you could distribute power anywhere on the planet, as opposed to surface collection which is susceptible to weather and is typically more localized.

At least I think that's what he means?
