We've seen a move to the right with young men. What will it take and is it even possible to see the same thing with young women? I have my doubts, but they're probably too large a group to write off completely.

Virtue signaling group think.

With young women, the absolute worst thing that can happen to them emotionally is to be socially rejected by their peers group. Now that that peer group is social media, entire segments of population can shift and polarize en masse and this compels young females to comply with the group think or and movement one direction or the other or they risk emotionally devastating social ostracism.

Mamdani checks several boxes for young women.

1. He is good looking with a "winsome smile". Chicks dig that.
2. He is Muslim - young women are woke and want to fight for the underdog. Muslims always play victim
3. He is non-white. Young women want to show they are not racist and love everyone.
4. Young women are irrational and emotional - nothing to do with Mamdani but beware of letting young women decide anything.

This is a great point.

It is widespread. I had to fight that in 2016 when I voted for Trump, many of my friends used to be openly be against Trump back then though many have changed their views.

Don't forget, this means 84% of the women in a very liberal and in a bubble city voted for Mamdani.

A specific, hard left region.

CalBerkely campus would probably be 84% too or more. Same with San Francisco.

So be careful about extrapolating it to the national women's vote rural, small cities, and big cities all lumped together.

I've said it before but it should be repeated. Mouth, you should be getting paid for this. You eloquently and succinctly summarize issues while improving F16's vocabulary at the same time.

I think it's more sinister than that. White liberal women hate conservatives. That hatred is their driving force. So they elect those who stand to do the most evil and harm to conservatives. It has to be that. There is no way that 86% of liberal women believe that socialist policies will benefit them in any way. Even most of them are not that stupid. So why do they vote against their own interest? They aren't strong enough to inflict the pain they want to inflict on us, so they vote for those that can. Even if it's jihadist Muslims.

I would imagine you have extreme selection with individuals living in NYC. Neither the men nor women are wanting to have a family. It is probably a reflection of the very cut throat selfish culture. Sure the 18-34 women voted overwhelmingly for the communist, but lets not act like the same age group of men didnt vote 90+% for democrats.

While the bubble exists for sure, MouthBQ's point is universally true. Rural young women have a vulnerability to national peer pressure too thanks to social media. It may not have as quick a dramatic shifting effect as urban centers, but if you don't guard your own, rural areas will fall as well eventually.

All it takes is one leftist in a social group to be made a "victim" and key the right emotional responses, then you have a group infected with the mind virus. It expands from there.

The same age group of men voted for a democrat. That isnt any better.

NYC is very unique. It is also an off year election with minimal chance a republican could get elected. Would you blame a conservative or moderate young woman for not going to vote because it had no impact?

Marrying the government. Unmarried women seek the provisions a husband would otherwise afford. Signals of generosity, confidence, and attraction often win their vote.

Effectively, you'll get the same answer if you approach an unmarried woman and ask her "which politician would you rather marry" or "who are you voting for?"

It is simple, women love real masculine men.

And while I hate Islam, I will say that Muslim men are among the most masculine types of men there is. They never put up with any bs from women that other types of men put up with (black men are also very masculine). Most all other types have taken on feminine qualities that women hate.

Do Muslim men overdo it and treat women poorly. Yes. But many women don't want to be treated like men, given too much power, too much decision making. They will never agree that they hate it though, but you can see how they react.

I tried this experiment, on a Friday I asked my wife where she wants to go to dinner. We will go where you want. She almost never can decide and ends up getting annoyed, and asking everyone else where they wanted to go. Recently. we were reviewing our daughter's college application essays and had 2 versions and had to pick one. My wife started arguing so I said okay, it is YOUR decision. You pick and I will go with it. If our daughter gets in, you take all the credit of helping her. If she does not, you get all the blame. She quickly divested herself of any responsibility and fell in line with what I wanted us to do. I am okay with being blamed, women hate being the "bad guy".

Summary is "Men, be men. Take charge. Take control. Don't simp."

Married women vote republican at a higher rate then any non-married men category (except widowed men). So your take is wrong.

Not to mention, these young women are not getting the insights and views about Mamdani that say, the people on this board do.

They are steeped in liberal propaganda 24-7, from TikTok, celebrities, etc., etc. They aren't watching Scott Jennings or reading Hot Air.

They have no clue what it means to be a "socialist." They just want politicians who aren't meanie Republicans.

It's truly astounding they vote this way because, if the Muslims had their way, each and every one of these women would be forced to wear a hijab, at minimum, and also stay home barefoot and pregnant.
