Again, do not underestimate the power that goes with a 39 year veteran of the House (or Senate) retires. There is a reason they hang on to those seats for that long.

Her stack of "we owe u's" and committee positions, Rolodex, etc. Essentially the powers she wielding to reckless but profound effect will be missed and represent an opportunity for the Rs to further divide the Ds.

They are ripe for having part of their party cleaved off. I think most from BOTH sides were hoping that cleave would be removing the radicals. Apparently the patients will be running their asylum.
