No I'm not. Victim blaming would be if I said he deserved it and she was justified. Neither of which I said. And the rape comparison, in your example, is wholly dissimilar as that hypothetical individual didn't take any direct action towards another person.

While running your mouth to random people shouldn't result in ass beatings of varying severities (as it's both illegal and unnecessary), the fact is that it happens with regularity, sometimes with fatal results.

The only reason this is on anyone's radar is because the perp was elected to public office (which I adamantly detest). Recognizing this doesn't mean that I'm justifying the perp's behavior or condoning the tragic outcome.
