This is great news. Investigate US corporations who have been looting and cheating the government and the country and enriching themselves illegally.

If fraud is conclusively found, I want the CEO and the rest of the C suite to be jailed for a minimum of 10 years. Fine is good, but I want imprisonment of the people responsible.

Now this all sounds good, but I will be really happy when I see actual results of this exercise. Too many of these are just smoke and mirror stunts.

If you suspect H1B fraud, report the company.

FIRST ON FOX: The Department of Labor revealed it has launched at least 175 ongoing investigations targeting potential abuses within the H-1B visa program as part of its mission to protect American jobs and ensure only necessary foreign workers are employed in the U.S.

The DOL launched Project Firewall in September to ensure that employers prioritize qualified Americans for job positions and do not abuse the H1B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations.

The aggressive federal crackdown on potential abuse of the program includes Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer personally certifying the initiation of investigations which is a mechanism that the department has never used before, Fox Digital learned.

"The Labor Department is using every resource currently at our disposal to put a stop to H-1B visa abuse, and for the first time, I am personally certifying investigations into suspected violations to better protect American jobs," Chavez-DeRemer told Fox News Digital in a statement.

"Under the leadership of President Trump, we will continue to invest in our workforce, ensuring high-skilled job opportunities go to American workers first."

The DOL's September announcement was launched the same day President Donald Trump signed a proclamation that imposed a $100,000 one-time fee on H-1B visa petitions. The White House previously told Fox News Digital that the fee works to prevent "companies from spamming the system and driving down wages" with cheap foreign labor, while simultaneously promoting "American businesses who actually want to bring high-skilled workers" to the U.S.
The Department of Labor could not provide details on the specifics of the 175 current investigations, which account for over $15 million in calculated back wages to workers, but reported to Fox Digital that it has uncovered a bounty of concerns.

The investigations have uncovered that some foreign workers with advanced degrees are paid far less than what's promoted in a job description, which the DOL said drives down wages for visa-holders and American workers alike, while also forcing American employees with the same qualification to accept lower wages in order to stay competitive.

Other investigations found that employers did not even notify U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services when an H-1B visa holder was terminated, or found significant lag times between a termination and an employer notifying the agency that oversees the U.S.'s immigration system.

Dear Sir/Madam
It is OVER 100. Please read the title again.
No idea what the real number is.

Thank you. Come again. And do the needful and revert.

You dont have to hit all the companies. You make an example of enough of them and other companies will self comply.

Just imagine Andy Jassy, the crooked CEO of Amazon dragged in chains to Bryan TX to be cellmates with Elizabeth Holmes! Or Jamie Dimon, the even more crooked CEO of JPMorgan.

This is the perfect strategy. Blue star to you.
Just 1-2 big name hits and they will all run like roaches when you turn the lights on.

They should check AT&T. They think the rules don't apply to them.

On second thought, much as I love to see crooked CEOs in jail, maybe Trump can probably give companies 30 days to confess to all their sins publicly and to the Government and rectify them all. Put it on their corporate twitter page and website and apologize to the American people.

The real goal is not to imprison the CEOs but to fix the system and make it fair for Americans. After 30 days if a company is caught, tar, feather and shame them by all means.

Agreed, though companies that big all think the rules don't apply.

To me, they should hit the 100 largest companies in the country first, then work their way down.

This is today's news. I even put the date of the article on the OP. How did you know this earlier? Or do you mean earlier today?

Thanks for your support. This needs to be cleaned up if we can have a healthy society where our kids can work hard and get the jobs they deserve.

No, I was talking about earlier today (yesterday).

Good. Let's see some action now, not just talk.
Let's some CEOs who broke/misused the law to get arrested and jailed.
Let's see some concrete laws to help Americans, not just a few elite who own companies.

Also, 175 is nothing. There are 700k H1Bs stealing American jobs, and we just talk about 175 companies? Still, let's see at least 10 arrests and imprisonments coming out of it, some big fish for all the money they stole from Americans.

They are not Americans and Americans should get US jobs first. Whether a "Mexican"American, "African American" or any other nationality.

I am glad the Trump administration has launched over 100 investigations into H-1 abuses because the corporations claiming they can't find enough Americans with specialized skills are looking to decrease labor costs by gaming the H-1B visa system. I hope these investigations and findings will result in hiring and paying qualified American workers reasonable salaries.

I would like to see the administration publish names of these 175 companies. I want to know how many H1Bs they scammed and how. Number of H1Bs involved.
Transparency. This administration is no better than Biden's on this. How about USDOL put out a dashboard on its site and some more information on twitter?
Unless we see action, I consider all this as an eyewash to fool people.

Enough is enough.

It's a fraudulent system undermining US born students and workers and the country as a whole due to decline in competence with a simultaneous increase in competition for housing and services.
