I enjoyed this series despite the flaws. As was mentioned, the language used in the series was really jarring. Almost distractingly so to me. Even in the bawdiest of taverns in Chicago or New York at the time nobody used language like that, let alone sitting US Congressmen and Senators. They made Roscoe Conkling into a complete villain with a racist attitude towards Blanche Bruce. In reality Conkling mentored and promoted Bruce in the Senate, and Bruce named his son after Conkling.
The guy that played Guiteau was incredible. What a great job by him.
In my opinion, this period in American history was the greatest era for fashion for men. The clothing styles, the wild facial hair, the hats. Awesome. I wish I could dress like that and people not think I am an insane person.
