Curious how the Rs are doing.
$70-$80 million according to quick AI.
Supposedly Trump is prepared to spend massively from his personal stash for 2026 and 2028.
And it will go to those most loyal to him. I imagine that likely played into Stefanik ejecting. Trump is going to be THE super delegate on the primaries. For better or worse.
but Stefanik has always been loyal to Trump so I can't see how that makes sense.
There are several stories out there. One I was told was that Trump liked Blakeman though he thinks race in unwinnable. Others had Stefanik being the favored one and Blakeman refusing to drop out complicated by Trump refusing to go negative on Blakeman.
Either way, Trump ultimately determined the candidate for the Rs.
Rs need to stay away from heavily contested primaries and back loyal candidates from early on.
