Comforting to know "hair racism" has been banned in PA.
One can only hope it spreads across the country.
NY - IL - CA - Minnesota
We know there is rampant hair racism bringing down the nation.

Abbott signs into law CROWN Act banning race-based hair discrimination

Gov. Greg Abbott over the weekend signed into law a bill prohibiting race-based hair discrimination in Texas workplaces, schools and housing policies. It goes into effect in September.

You know, conservatives don't HAVE to be *******s, right?

I can just roll out of bed and look 'professional'. But blacks have hair that isn't naturally accepted as 'professional' so they do have to spend a lot of time, effort, money to straighten their hair or buy wigs, etc. You were born with an opportunity they just don't have. I don't think they're asking for some special treatment, just the opportunity to spend as little effort on their hair as you do.

So does that include purple, green, pink hair or lice?

Clean hair is not a school code, it is a hygiene issue.

I have no hair. I have to spend more money on hats and sunscreen so I don't burn my scalp. It's not fair, someone should have to pay for that…..

One of the most ridiculous comments I've ever seen on F16.

Title VII and Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866 already protect against race discrimination. Adding "hair" discrimination is just another way to attempt to separate African Americans from other groups to provide them other avenues to make claims against their employers. It's insane.

Reminds me of one of my old managers in my audit days. She was in the UK on a project for me and called upset because she tried to get her haircut and they refused saying they do not cut ethnic hair.

Their issue was not skin color but the intricacies of dealing with that particular type of hair.

Are you going to go into Loupot's barter shop and ask for a weave when the barbers are inept at giving a corps haircut? Can my balding lily white arse go into a barber shop on Crenshaw and demand an Afro be made of my hair?

This is about as dumb as making a law sating electricians have to perform plumbing work.

Fatigue. No one gives a damn about a black person's natural hair. If they want to wear their hair like some Jamaican stoner (Rastafarian?) that's on them and some people will judge them for it. Same thing would happen to me if I sported a Mohawk or had unkempt long hair.

lol. Literally passing an unnecessary, virtue signaling law about hair is the definition of asking for something special.

How do dreadlocks work? How does hair get that way?

If you neglect hair care, does it become dreadlocks? It seems like course and rough hair devoid of any oil.

One thing i've discovered when I'm interviewing people:

If they have corn rows, they are generally not employable. And i'm saying this as a black(ish) guy. So I'm going out on a limb and saying you probably don't know what the **** you're talking about.

Bunk. White people and brown people don't wear their hair as a statement of their racial identity.

A black boy having long dreadlocks is no different than a white boy having long stringy, straight hair. A business should be allowed to to have a dress code and disallow certain hair styles.

Originally, it was dung that was used to twist and then dried to hold that shape. Didn't stink as it was dried.

How they do them now, mostly weaves, I suspect.

I noticed about a month ago a bunch of soldiers walking through the airport that were obviously younger. Sorry to stereotype but the gaited thug walk, dreadlocks, and unshaven faces made me do a double take. That's how far standards have been lowered. I'm assuming they don't shave your head like they did 25+ years ago when I arrived at boot camp? I also remember that it was damn near impossible to get a "no shave chit." It had to be medically proven you needed one. Only saw one issued over my four years. I'll admit I'm flat out disgusted by how far the standards have fallen.

We've all seen the playbook over and over again. So-called "fair treatment" is just the camel's nose to get "fair treatment" turned into government funded entitlements and weapons to threaten political enemies and businesses with.

You thinking people are stupid enough to fall for this is telling.
The best way to keep evil men from wielding great power is to not create great power in the first place.

Abbot simply does not have the ability to stand up or stand against things that he should. Very disappointed with him in this regards.

He certainly does not walk the walk of a conservative. Time to put the wheels in motion to find a new governor.

Hair policing by employers is dumb unless there is a legit safety hazard. Hair policing by schools is actively harmful to kids and serves no legitimate purpose.

The former should be legal. The latter should be illegal.

This is like complaining that "women have to get dressed up, because of the men."
When in REALITY we all know it's because of other women.

You can tell the folks in a thread like this that haven't hung with a lot of black women.

When a black female is born, the first concern between the mother and her friends is always, whether she has "good" hair or "bad" hair. Almost w/o fail. This idiocy is entirely "forced" on blacks, by blacks.

I started to put my "credentials" for this, 'eff that, just take my word.

Solution looking for a problem. I have never seen hair discrimination. The only time it has ever come up is to ensure safety or safety equipment can be properly worn, and that included shaving as well for fire and breathing masks.
