There are just 3 racial qualifiers.....white, asian or black. Not ethnicity, or nationality, but racial. A middle-eastern person would, racially, be properly labeled as "white".

This is correct. Arguably the original three qualifiers were more accurate than the expanded one of the later 20th C let alone the wider ones proposed now. In retrospect an example of keep-it-simple-stupid that was probably closer to the truth. Depends on how much one believes science show it can be quantified.
