Dell isn't funding the whole thing, just the $250 for kids living in zip codes below the poverty line. If that's how he wants to give away his wealth, no problem.

I have no problem with the Trump accounts. Hopefully it leads to increased personal financial responsibility and understanding.

I do have a problem with the $1k payments from the treasury. What's the Constitutional basis?

I notice many celeb actress women tend to do it. They are valued on their beauty all their lives and suddenly once they hit 30, no one seems to care or give them a 2nd look. The 20 year old hottie next to her gets all the attention.
Must suck.

For men it is not that way. The older you get, it is likely you are richer and more confident so your "value" keeps increasing until about 60 - 70. Women like older richer confident men. Men like younger hotter cuter women.

Thank goodness my wife delivered twins in May. Two more accounts!

I had a kid this year, so he would be eligible, but not sure I want to sign up for something that seems so gimmicky.

Feels about as big government as you can get. Take in taxes and re-distribute out to people directly.

Imagine how rich our country would be if everyone started out with $1k as a child and couldn't touch it until retirement. Almost a million bucks if not another cent was added and never withdrawn

The older generation wouldn't be relying on the current workforce to feed and house them through social security. Even if the money isn't added just having access to this type of account is amazing.
