Ha. I've dealt with this numerous times in Texas on Hwy 183.
I have not been stuck behind one of those but was heading the opposite direction on a 70 mile, two lane POS road in NM. Miles of cars were gridlocked behind a blade crawling at the speed of snail. I spent a considerable amount of time watching for drivers deciding whether or not to pass and looking for a bail out zones just in case they did. An extremely dangerous decision on the part of the transport company. I assume transport company was not aware of a widely used concept called "a map". The destination was not far from IH 40 which parallels the two lane road.
