I don't think this applies to the hilux due to the "chicken tax" or tariff, or whatever it's called. From what I can tell, it would have to be manufactured here in the US and I doubt Toyota would tool up for that only to have to change it again if the next president is a commie.

Regardless, I'll be the first to commit to purchasing one of the turbo diesels. 5500 lb towing! That's the same as my Honda Ridgeline.

Some versions look cheap and ugly, but I think this one looks good, similar to a Jeep truck or mini Hummer truck...

For the Hilux to be sold here they would have to roll back a lot of safety standards/regulations. I don't see that happening.

I doubt it meets any emissions standards. Definitely not in CA.

The only trucks I've seen on the road the size of the old Rangers are... The old Rangers. They might have some smaller trucks but it ain't the same.
