Wow. Lol, wait until the nurse who got extra time on her tests, asks you to wait so she can check her notes.

Not to be the "um, actually" person. But for nursing in particular, if you need accommodations like extra time on computer or written exams or a distraction-free environment, those are considered reasonable, but the accommodation contract will stipulate that students are NOT to receive accommodation for practical exams where clinical competence skills are to be demonstrated as part of the exam so Health assessment labs, gross anatomy labs, simulations etc.

Another one I have seen is having the lecture slides published 24 hours in advance for pre review. I'm meh on that one.

Finally, there is a law coming down in Texas that all course materials need to be ADA Compliant by sometime in April. This is a pretty big lift for instructors to go through and make sure anything recorded has a transcription/subtitles, documents are scannable by reading software, and pictures have alt text. It's a lot especially for older teachers. Thankfully most programs have features to help but many instructors dont even know how to use them or that they exist.

I'm trying to imagine a world where any of my college friends moms did stuff for them like this. The justifiable harassment would have been epic. You don't deserve to be in college if your mother has to hold your hand.

That is literally kindergarten crap. My god.

Good lord the left is making us so weak and soft. I'm sure by design. If you're weak enough you can depend on the government to do for you.

From what I have seen - I think this trend is with other universities as well and not just the Ivy's. Parents are having their kids request "accomodations" and universities seem to encourage it.

It's a continuation of what they're used to doing in public education. They request accommodations, and no matter how ridiculous their request is, it's almost always granted regardless of the expense or the difficulty in doing so.

Ivy degrees becoming as worthless as they are expensive

In the past hundred years the Ivy education has lost its exclusivity. Its value was increasingly found in the connections. But they're working hard to discharge that value as well (replacing legacy with DEI).

Id wager that outside of their self aggrandizing circles, most of the country would rather work with a state school grad than an Ivy one.

The only good to come out of this is the Ivy's will lose their cache and influence.

They lost the cache with me a long time ago. I wouldn't hire anyone with a degree from an Ivy. Their influence will take much longer to wane simply because of the ingrained money involved.
