They absolutely are not allies in any real sense of the word, imho. It's also good to remember that Europe never really left its 'old' days of censorship very far behind at all.

Their moslem invaders/clericalist aristocracy really have just activated a scaffolding of censorship (and expanding on it with technology to improve their authority/control) that was merely inactive for a decade or two at most.
There is resistance to the thought police in the former communist populaces most prevalently.

Update article details how the USTR should have opened a 301 case by now against the EU over DSA.
Quote:

Applied to the DMA and DSA, a Trump-directed Section 301 case would do three things.

First, it would formally frame the EU's censorship regime and its discriminatory digital rules as a trade problem, not just a tech-policy disagreement. By documenting how these laws disproportionately affect a handful of "gatekeepers" and large platforms, while sparing their European rivals, the USTR can establish a pattern of discrimination and the concrete burden on U.S. commerce.

Second, it would test the EU's behaviour against the commitments both sides have made to treat each other's industries fairly under the broader U.S.EU trade framework and WTO rules. Those commitments include non-discriminatory treatment and good-faith regulatory cooperation. When the EU designs an entire legal architecture that effectively says "American companies pay; European competitors benefit," it is hard to argue that those commitments are being

Third, it would create leverage. The Trump admin would suddenly have a live, statutory case on the books, backed by evidence, witness testimony, and clear findings. That case could support targeted pressure on politically sensitive EU exports if Brussels refuses to narrow or recalibrate the DMA and DSA. As recent 301 cases against China, the EU, and others have shown, the mere prospect of retaliatory tariffs can concentrate minds in foreign capitals.

The alternative is to let Europe continue writing American rules from Brussels.

The EU is already using the DSA to justify fines and speech controls on U.S. platforms, while insisting its laws are non-negotiable in trade talks. Senior U.S. officials have rightly warned that this model of regulation is incompatible with America's free-speech tradition and with a healthy transatlantic partnership.

But statements are not enough. The law already sitting on the books in Washington gives President Trump something far more potent than a press release or Truth Social post.

Well?
Quote:

If Brussels wants to regulate its own internet into irrelevance, that is its choice. It does not get to do the same to America, and certainly not without consequence.

President Trump's second administration has an opportunity to restore balance to a relationship that has been lopsided for too long. A forceful Section 301 investigation would send a clear message: America will not tolerate an economic bloc weaponizing regulation to undermine U.S. competitiveness or impose foreign speech codes.

The EU has enjoyed years of asymmetric leverage because Washington refused to push back. That era should end now.

Now that is good news about Bulgaria in the sense it is always a little re-assuring when a basic mass public demonstration can halt a government of elites like Solidarity in Poland, or East Germany in '89. Especially since if anything the EU has shown it needs to shrink in power, not grow.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr announced that they will be hiring a "bias monitor" at CBS "who would report directly to the President." State run TV is officially here.

Yea, about that free speech.....CBS and Fox are just state run propaganda at this point. Once Trump forces the sell of CNN to Paramount, then CNN will be state run propaganda. But sure it's just the EU doing it totally not Trump stifling free speech.

Yes, if it holds, but in the EU if the elections don't work out for the globalists they just nullify them, and arrest the 'populists' while tossing around 'Russian disinformation' claims as in Romania.

Of course, in Texas the partner in crime to the Eurocrat censorship operation against conservatives is/was…UT Austin.

More at the thread. Note, the Center for Promoting Digital Hate founder who was sanctioned this week by the State Department is best buddies with Starmer. These activities run to the absolute top of the EU countries running the old continent.

These are not countries that are allies with the American people, they are desperate to keep their own people/subjects oppressed and ignorant. The proper answer is to withdraw entirely from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and build a greater framework to protect Americans from their draconian speech limits. The USTR has an ability to open a case on these issues but has utterly failed to do so.

Our president thinks that news networks who have critical content of him should have their licenses revoked. 60 Minutes couldn't air content due to pressure from the administration. This is what free speech looks like.

EU countries are actually using Russian natural gas en masse?

Really?

What about the polar bears?

Germany had to increase their natural gas imports because they shut down their nuclear power plants.

Nice job breaking it, Greenies!

They are also now a net importer of electricity. One of the places they get it from is France, which generates 70% of it's electricity using nuclear reactors.

No, that's not what he thinks.

But networks lying to the public and calling it "news" should not be on the air. Jimmy Kimmel stood up and lied about Charlie Kirk. Conservatives are tired of the killing based on liberal lies.

Hey, remember when the Biden admin worked with networks and big tech to spike numerous stories about a myriad of topics and to suppress conservative speech?

Remember the 51 folks who lied about Hunters laptop?

Remember all of democrat media covering and lying about Bidens mental health for four years?

Where were you and your ilk then? When are yall ever going to acknowledge and own that the Democrats have been doing this before Trump got here?

It's not but I'll be here to call out the left on here who never take accountability for their side already mastering this practice long before any suggestion of Trump allegedly doing something similar.

Their hypocrisy never ends.
