I like DeSantis. But I think he hit his ceiling and his window has substantially closed.

Has he been a fantastic executive for Florida? Absolutely. I think he would make a decent POTUS.

But I will stand by my comments on him from the early days of the 2024 primaries. He will struggle with wide popularity particularly with females.

Don't disagree at all with that. Since the advent of the televised debate and interviews, POTUS's have had to be just as much personality as they is effective leader, prepared for office, suited for the position.

Rs were able to get away from this with Bush '41 but since they have tried and failed to run candidates that may not be as polished as the Dem or as likeable, and we paid for it.

Now... the Ds took it to a whole new level post-Hillary and decided they could just make up the mythical image of the candidate regardless of the actual candidate. See Biden, Kamala and Newsom. Gaslit Candidates.

I think DeSantis would make a heckuva VP for JD Vance--or Secretary of State if Rubio was Vance's preferred running mate.
