As someone more than passingly familiar with Sociology Literature, you are unlikely to get any balanced explanation of this phenomena.

You will see a lot of discussion of prejudice against them, structural barriers in western society, and how Europe and America is worse for them than the conflicts in Somalia. Kid you not.

I'm sure repeated interaction with their spear chucking brethren made her this way. My three months spent in Djibouti confirm that she is correct. Nothing worthwhile has even come from that part of the world and never will. They are disposable.
