Agreed. I saw a DW post that there will be retaliation, but what would that even be? Against some cave dwellers or some tiny group no one can find?

Multiple strategic reasons. Counter terrorism, counter Iran proxies, oil field security, stabilization of a country with new leadership, and other reasons. I hate we lost soldiers. I served 26 years and I could never come to personal justification other than we were doing our mission. Prayers for the soldiers and their families.

It's interesting how this has been framed as a "lone wolf ISIS attack". ISIS is effectively the legitimate government of Syria, so I guess it's technically true. Our government wants to blame ISIS for this while absolving the Syrian government. But what they really want is for this to be forgotten by the public as quickly as possible. So it's a "lone wolf ISIS attack". No other explanation needed. Case closed.

You have no idea what they are or are not doing. Just because it's not going the way you think doesn't mean things are not getting done. In just the last year alone look how much good Trump has done where we were under ****head. Presidents and people in the no don't usually apprise the American people of everything that they are doing and not doing. Like all the sex crimes they're preventing the excellent jobs. They've done on the borders what they're doing with the drug runners. But no, you just always focus on the negative.

I don't know what your problem is, but you just can't ever be supportive of Trump. You don't have to like some things I don't either, but you literally complain about everything.

Huge issue is they were not killed by ISIS, they were killed by Jolani's HTS security group. For what ever reason the department of war lied about who killed them and who knows if we are currently hitting the right group. From the sounds of it nope.

Just a few days after Trump called Jolani a great leader. Sarah Adams has been calling it like it is lately, not sure why the US keeps lying about who they are killing.

I was deployed to Iraq/Syria in 2021. Spent a lot of time bouncing between Al Hasakah and Green Village and from what I could tell it was mostly to protect the Kurds and jockeying for control of Syrian oil fields against the Russians.

Yeah, just leave out the fact that the one recently in the news was on a minor drug offense in the 1990s when he was being failed by us in treating his PTSD? We treat our vets like crap.

I think Jolani is a convenient ally, and we're trying to keep him in power because he appears to not be vocally anti-Israel, and doesn't appear to be pro-Iran. Letting him fall, or taking him out, would create a vacuum with who knows what replacing him. If he can keep weapons from making it through Syria and being used against Israel, I think we'll continue to support him.

He was in prison for two years. I have a PTSD rating and I'm not getting sent to prison for felony drug use.

What is your service record?

About 187,000 non-citizens have become citizens through the military since 9/11, and nearly 300 being killed in that time frame.

Maybe US citizens need to step up and start signing up to serve so non-citizens aren't needed.
