Quote:

While Texas law protects unborn children, Texas A&M University and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board have approved funding for research explicitly aimed at "mitigating" the pro-life Dobbs decision under the premise that abortion facility closures harm young women's education and earnings.

Dr. Daniel Marthey, an assistant professor at the Texas A&M School of Public Health, is leading the research project. On June 12, he presented it to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Education Research Advisory Board.

According to documents obtained through an open records request, Marthey intends to study the relationship between the closure of abortion facilities in Texas and a variety of academic and economic indicators.

So the premise is that being unable to
kill their babies is detrimental to female students. Because then, you know, they have to drop out of school to raise children or something.

Both Texas A&M and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board had previously sought to conceal these records. The Office of the Attorney General recently ordered TAMU to release them.

Marthey states that his effort to "mitigate" the Dobbs decision, which restored authority over abortion policy to state legislatures, stems from a belief that a Texas law passed in 2021 prohibiting abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detectable "will have a negative impact on young women in Texas."

Incredible that our college would approve this sort of thing, let alone the HECB. The only negative impact from Dobbs is abortion docs losing work. And that's a good thing.

The murder industry will fight relentlessly to continue the culture of death. Any justification they can think of will be on the table, and they'll invent new ones if needed.

"Mitigating" Dobbs is a terrible way to frame the research, at the very least.

What a waste of f'ing money. He's going to fund a study to mitigate Dobbs. IOW, he already has the outcome he wants and will design the study accordingly.

This is another great example of how scientific research is mostly b.s. at this point.

Murder is murder no matter what definitions they change or science they try to twist.

Maybe they should do a study (at tu not at A&M) instead on how they think liberal men can get pregnant or what is a woman?

The way the premise reads, the decision has already been made. Why waste money on research?

Maybe he can come up with a class on how to teach these dumbasses how not to (literally) FA and become preggo. It's not difficult. Quit being a ho. Goes for the guys involved, too.

All they have to so is wait until 2029 and abortion with zero restrictions will be the law of the land. Probably the second or third bill the Democrats will pass.

This sounds a lot like they are looking for the final solution to the pro-life question.

Just absurd.

If they thought they could do that they would have in the immediate wake of Dobbs. It's going to take a shift in SCOTUS for that to stick. Dobbs ruled abortion isn't a federal issue and Congress passing a law isn't going to change that opinion under this current court.

You seem to be projecting your anger at UT. A&M did this.
