Cameraman was basically an accomplice. Just watched quietly while the guy stalked his prey. Like he was filming a damned nature documentary.

I can't help but imagine David Attenborough narrating now.

Welcome to the 3rd world, where people wait for the government to come help you.
And bystanders usually don't help, because only the bigger, badder guy has a weapon.

Not one person enters the store to help.

What I learned from this video is the complete lack of urgency by these people and that no one knows how to run.

What???? Most certainly an unarmed population (they are quite homogeneous and well mannered), but hardly "third world". On a side note, my son was at a carnival there with his wife and her family, and people gathered around to see my "Texan" son shoot targets and tear it up.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

Ok then , a subservient mentality where folks wait for "authorities" to take care of an issue

Fair enough. I suspect Tokyo or Yokohama would have been similar. It's just not something they expect to experience. Some people know how to behave and I guess it creates a population that simply doesn't know how to react.

Agreed, in Taiwan and Japan (and maybe SKorea) something like this would be unexpected.
I have visited true 3rd world countries, where people just watch violence take place, because the bad guys are the only ones with weapons.

My wife has gotten to the point she won't go any place we expect to be crowded. A&M games, excepted.

Is Singapore the answer?

On that note, the University desperately needs to figure out how to avoid dense crowds forming outside the security checkpoints before it's too late.

Is Singapore the answer?

Depends.

Did you like wearing masks during Covid? Do you want your neighbors telling the government on you, if you don't? Do you like the idea of wearing an ankle bracelet so that the government can make sure you are social distancing properly? If you don't have a problem with that, then Singapore will be fine.

Going in you have to realize that it is NOT a free country, and you are not a free citizen. If you are ok with that, then it can be a fantastic place to live.
