have only seen the preview...hoping Shawn can nail him down or expose all his bs. but that is not typically something he does. he is more conversational

Seen some people do a summary of the show, like normal Shawn doesn't refute or hit back. Lets Hunter tell his side of the story, even says there was never a laptop.

He did the same thing with Newsome, I appreciate giving everyone a chance to tell their side but you need to call them out on their lies. Waste of a few hours.

Who advised him that a solid PR strategy is to gaslight both of the people who haven't seen the laptop photos/emails?

Same folks who upheld the big guy as mentally capable for 4 years, I'd guess.

Hunter keeps blaming the algorithm, to blame the bad press on D. But then uses one example of one pregnant lady in an arrest and says Trump behaves as a Fascist. He is gaslighting for the Dems.

I may quit listening. I dont need to keep being told a stove is hot to not touch it. I am pretty sure that I know what Hunter has to say. He is on his knees for Newsome. The love them some illegal immigration. Love it.

I tried listening to it... shawn gave him way too much latitude, didn't press him or steelman anything he was saying. not saying shawn is this dumb, but hunter was laying on the praise pretty damn thick & it seemed to put shawn at bay.....

don't think i'll finish it.

I've never heard of the guy.

I guess I wasn't missing much.

he's a good listen on most of his shows. his politics episodes are very hit and miss. he doesn't have the interview style to nail down people when they are spinning lies. he's very conversational.

His interviews with veterans are typically outstanding. Politics and other stuff is hit or miss.

Shawn listens. Guests like Gavin and Hunter do themselves in. Shawn is polite to both like anyone should be but both Gavin and especially Hunter hang themselves.....if you listen to them you will see.

Shawn is an interesting interviewer because he always never pushes back. He'll dig in and ask for more information sometimes but generally just lets the person tell their story how they want to tell it. It does make it hard to listen to when he's talking to obvious liars and scumbags

He's running for some office.

The great thing about all the longform podcasts is that the hosts let the guests talk, so you get a chance to see what the guests really think.

The weakness is that they generally don't challenge the guests, so it's not always going to be interesting.

*Rogan's better at it, because he doesn't mind looking stupid and asking guests to explain what they mean.

Same impression from me.

I made it to the 27 minute mark before I turned it off. He gave Humter 15 minutes to frame everything under the premise that "everything I've been accused of is just because of political polaraccount. Hunter made some assinie comment about polarization saying, "I think about that sometimes when I am painting...." No pushback whatsoever.

Ryan let him use the "immigrants" and "pulling pregnant women out of cars and putting knee in their back " umbrella accusation from the left to obfuscate that ICE is deporting ILLEGAL aliens and not legal immigrants. Ryan didn't step in to say, "Hold on, there are two distinct categories and we can talk about both of them but not without acknowledging the distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens."

I like Shawn Ryan but he seems eager to get a few outlier lefty interviews that he will just accept assertions that are provably false with publicly available information without holding Biden or Newsom to account.
