In a Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee hearing focused on the safety and regulation of FDA-approved abortion pills, Josh Hawley pressed Dr. Nisha Verma, an obstetrician-gynecologist called as an expert witness, with a question that rapidly became the focus of the exchange was a simple question "Can men get pregnant?" This was intended (by Hawley) to pin down biological realities in the context of dispensing abortion medication. Her squirming bizarre answer is crazy. Hawley clearly says the goal of his line of questioning was to establish what he viewed as biological reality, emphasizing that science and evidence not politics should guide such hearings, that this so called doctor had just earlier stated.
