The core MAGA platform is the core Reform Party platform. Many elements and reasons for the surge of the Tea Party also the same.

Trump has been pretty consistent in his core political beliefs and economic philosophy for much of his adult life.

Trump simply corrected a mistake that fellow billionaire Ross Perot made. Because Perot either didn't understand, didn't care, or thought he could correct the entrenched American two party system. Trump simply picked the party that most matched his core policy pillars. The GOP and ran in that party. He was not really the first.

Reagan and Goldwater did the same thing. American Conservatism is a political philosophy that most aligned with the GOP of the 1950s, so it rose within it. There are many differences in philosophy between Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. Same political party differing political philosophies.

As an American Conservative that leans heavy toward constitutional originalism. I do hope that kind of conservatism rises again. But no Republican has governed that way, not even Reagan. The closest is probably Calvin Coolidge.

So to say that MAGA and Trump will go away and true conservatism will rise again show a pretty deep misunderstanding of political history and the difference between political philosophy and political party. The philosophy underpinning Trump is not new at all, it's not going away, and true conservatism has never been tried before with Calvin Coolidge being the closest approximation.

Other than that. Carry on. I hope your true conservative can fight as dirty as Trump. Unfortunately the Marxists are on the rise within the Democratic Party and they are a nasty bunch. I wish the country we lived in today was the country that gave Reagan a landslide in 1984 and hated communism and everything it stood for. I wish a civil and charming politician like Reagan was what everyone looked for in a presidential leader. But that country is long gone and I have serious doubts it's ever coming back. And it's not Trump fault. Trump is an outcome, not a cause. I do hope my cynicism is proven wrong. I personally try to be civil and I don't like Trumps antics. But I understand why he does them and understand why some people respond positively to them. When people call you evil, racist, and Nazi long enough, you hope that someone eventually stands up for you and fights fire with fire.

I have been impressed by the number of democrats who have become Republicans over the last 50 years, but have never seen the reverse. Republicans don't switch to the dim party, though they sometimes become very lousy Republicans.

This is the result of the dim party moving further and further left, progressively becoming communist. I don't believe you will be enjoying your future, comrade, because the populist movement in America is strong and will continue to get stronger.
