But I get that others on this thread may have been impacted, by athlete's decisions, so I won't pretend to speak for them.
Just saying that for me, I haven't lost a second's sleep about who professional athletes compete for.

I guess it's a pretty nice rock. I've lived inside and outside the US, and can't recall my life having been dramatically impacted by which country a professional athlete competes for.

Uhhh, did he "write" that in cursive? If not, he went through a lot of effort.

Weak bladder comment. Have you zero appreciation for the country you were born in?
Rumor has it the team will be flying here to DC aboard one of the PRESIDENTIAL jets used as Air Force One 🤣

Actually, it was in Megan Rapinoe's handwriting.

She may be a lot of things, but pretty sure bozo isn't one of them haha.

Interesting question. And completely irrelevant.
My comment was intended to say that her decision impacts almost nobody except herself, and that I'm not going to waste my time or emotional energy on either loving her or hating her for doing so.
But I've already messed that up by spending more time replying on this thread than I've ever thought about Eileen Gu.
So I'll concede that I've defeated myself, agree that you are entitled to your own opinion, and politely exit the thread.

Ah. One of "live and let live folks" that communists love to have around before they conquer them,

Uh, exactly how much power does a 22 year old freestyle skier have these days? Apparently much more than I realized haha.
She's competed for China for the past 7 years, and I don't know that it's impacted my life negatively one bit. It was annoying and I felt like she should have just said "I'm doing it all for the MONEY" at that time, and would respect her more if she'd just be honest about it being a pure money play. And I'd really prefer if she just chose one country or the other and committed to it rather than playing both sides for the financial opportunities both offer.
But I'm not going to let it take over my life (well, beyond debating it on a message board with a bunch of other 60+ year old guys).
