Having an oilfield hand running the RRC seems wild but I think he understands the zombie well problem better than anyone.

His opponents just seem like grifters wanting a government job. Seems Hawk will be taking a pay cut.

Some of the Republican candidates this primary cycle are running hard on the radical Islam threat even if they are running for positions that have about nothing to do with it. It must be polling as a hot topic amongst likely Republican primary voters. ie activists and retirees.

Yean, not possible. But so many use key words and key phrases, among them are comments on radical islam, sharia law, all say they are conservative (when they are not), all say they are Republican (even when they don't act like it, they all "stand or this" or "stand for that", something about property taxes, and so on.

At the end of the day, most (as in nearly all) of them are all about themselves, they are grifting son of a *****es, and not worth a bucket of *****

If elected dog catcher, I will make sure the streets are free of dogs and cats. Radical Somali Islamists will have nothing to eat.

He's good people. He's from my hometown and friends of people I know. He's been laser focused on zombie wells and protecting landowners. He's got my vote.

Might get people looking again at tech that could vastly reduce injection and look for ways to keep that water on the surface.

I used to invest in a company (they've gone under) but they moved from the water/algae separation to oil separation. They had a pilot with Chevron out in Bakersfield that following traditional gravity separation ran through their system and resulted in water clean enough for physical media filtration then RO with back blending for the desired final TDS. Out there they gave the water to agriculture but I think their model was to sell the produced clean water.

I emailed them and said they needed to get those units to, at that time, Oklahoma. Oklahoma was seeing operators plug wells not because they were done producing but they were rationing water disposal and high water cut wells were the first to get cut.

The companies reply was there was no commercial market for the final water. Well you prove the water is clean (the CEO was drinking it) and put it in the creek! The point wasn't the produced water, it was the reduced disposal volumes!

There are people in the industry that know him going back years and locations, mixed reviews on him. Personally I think he would be good for the job, but I wonder how much his relationship with Sarah Stogner is going to hurt him. She seems like more of a thorn in the side than someone with solutions. 80 year old wells that have been plugged and buried for 60 years are going to be a problem because metal rusts, especially when decades of H2S percolation has its way with the casing. It's going to take a lot of money and time to either replug those wells with better more permanent cement methods, or run liners and let them produce and haul off or burn off the residual that creeps to the surface still.

It's the same tactic as a state official running with or against Trump. Vote for me as your dog catcher, I'm with Trump!

For O&G people, is there a reason to oust Jim Wright?

He drew 4 primary opponents, so I figure somebody doesn't like him.

Hawk and Bo French seem to be the only ones spending money.

A lot of stuff on Jim Wright that well documented with ethics, conflict of interests issues, lack of recusal issues, and shady use of campaign contributions.
